RPI @ Colgate 2/26/10

LET'S GO RED!!!!
Huge game for both teams here with a first round bye in the ECAC playoffs on the line. I'm sure both team will be watching to see how SLU does. Hopefully the RPI from Saturday does not show up and they can put together a solid 60 minutes of hockey.

LET'S GO RED!!!!!

Re: RPI @ Colgate 2/26/10

I have no idea, but I know I woke up to an actual snowfall, instead of a light dusting. Had to use the front door since the back was piled up. No need to shovel, so it couldn't have been that bad. Yay for jeeps.

However, the worst is east of the 'cuse (will definitely be past Hamilton by the end of the morning), so you may end up driving through it on the way out here. Tonight has a chance of a 1-3 inch light dusting, so come out and enjoy the game!

Re: RPI @ Colgate 2/26/10

Other than hopping over to Schenectady to play Union, I would guess the trip to Colgate would be one of the shortest trips on RPI's away schedule.

Under normal circumstances (admittedly, the current weather situation doesn't qualify as normal), I would think the team could leave around midday Friday and have plenty of time to get to Hamilton and have a pregame meal before a 7 PM faceoff.

Does the team usually travel on Thursday to get to the site of a Friday away game, even when the trip is this short?

To the best of my knowledge, they always travel on Thursday evening. This allows room for weather delays and I believe they also have a morning skate at the away rink Friday morning.

Re: RPI @ Colgate 2/26/10

Hoping everyone is healthy for this one-tonight we will find out just how badly this team wants a bye in the playoffs. There is just no excuse for them to come out flat as there is so much riding on this game. Besides, they should all remember how Colgate completely handled them in Troy this year. Go Red!

Re: RPI @ Colgate 2/26/10

This is probably the most meaningful regular season game that RPI has played in a decade.
I don't care what SLU does, we have to win. We don't have to watch any scoreboard, and we don't have to worry about how another team is doing.
We are capable of winning both games this weekend, so just go out and do it.

LETS GO RED!!!!!!!

Absolutely-this is the chance to get going for the playoffs. Win both of these games and we head into the second season with a full head of steam and a boat load of confidence. This team has shown flashes of being a top team-let's see if they can put together 2 solid outings. Go Red!

Re: RPI @ Colgate 2/26/10

I like the fact that we are on the road. I think we've played two, maybe three bad periods on the road all year. I just cannot see us putting in anything but a total effort tonight. Colgate is going to have to play their best game of the year to win.

Good Day for hockey...

Let's give Kotyra no reason to blow his whistle tonight.
Go RPI - save me some money with a bye:D

Re: RPI @ Colgate 2/26/10

Does anyone know if RPI got to Hamilton before the blizzard?

They are here, and so are we. The team came yesterday. My friend Justin (The Comeback Kid) and I got here safely as well. Left early to try to beat the storm, but there was no storm. Currently it is snowing right now though. Tim is here safely as well, and we are ready to bring you tonight's action!

Re: RPI @ Colgate 2/26/10

Women have taken a 1-0 lead late in the 2nd on a power play goal by Allison Wright. Slammed home a rebound.

He doesn't seem to need much reason-he was part of the dynamic duo that called the second RPI-Cornell game last year in the playoffs.

Re: RPI @ Colgate 2/26/10

Just wanted to let you guys know that tonight game will be broadcast on the NHL Network. for those of that have it.

Re: RPI @ Colgate 2/26/10

Quinnipiac tied it up late in the third just seconds into a power play. Sierra Vadner with a very unnecessary penalty as she hauled down a QPac skater coming in 1-on-3 and Q scored seconds into the PP.

Overtime set to begin shortly. Within an hour of game time for Q men, so hopefully RPI can end this one before the increasing crowd can become a factor.

Sometimes during televised games the officials call a decent game knowing the league officials very well could be watching

Too bad that I don't get it. :) It should get a pretty good audience, between the two Olympic semifinal games.
