Re: RPI @ Clarkson March 4 2012 (Game 3)
Have been semi retired since 2001. Still keep my license and continuing education active and do consultant work. I am not so worried about the length of last night's game taking it's toll-more concerned about the late hour and trying to rest and get sleep after all the excitement of the game and of course being on the road. I just think the biggest advantage Calrkson will have (and has had for the 2 games thus far) is making the last change. They can get the match ups they want. And with frequent stoppages in play for offsides and shooting the puck over the low height glass-they will certainly be able to take advantage of that. i am not sure that most observers realize what that can mean over the length of a game.
As far as starting Diebold. SA would be the best judge of that. He must know how much of a role confidence plays for that position. Sitting on the bench last night for 113 minutes could have made him pretty tired without ever being on the ice. I am just hoping for a well called game. Do not want to point at a questionable call as the cause for either team to end their season.
Doc, that just doesn't sound like retirement to me.
We seemed to have the better chances in the OT, but just couldn't finish. When Laliberte missed on the breakaway, I just knew it wasn't going to be our night.
As for tonight, we will have a rested Lee, and maybe Schroeder if he is healthy. Also have a couple of game tested reserves who could step in. Diebold should be good to go.
If we have our heads on straight, I think we have a great chance to come out the winner.
