RPI @ Clarkson, Friday, 11/6/2015

Re: RPI @ Clarkson, Friday, 11/6/2015

We miss an empty net and they come down and score. How many times have we seen that?

Now after 2 periods in the women's game SLU leads RPI 1-0 and outshooting the Engineers 19-10.

I have been waiting for the referees to take over this game, and now I think we will see that in the third period. Not good for the Engineers if that happens.

Shots fairly even (CCT 22 - 20 RPI). Faceoffs only at a 3:2 ratio (CCT 21 - 14 RPI). Not too many penalties, though; gotta wonder if we'll be seeing a 58:00 call...

Re: RPI @ Clarkson, Friday, 11/6/2015

All this late hitting is the fault of the officials not calling anything on the big hits by CCT during the last couple minutes. This might be the chance they were waiting for to enter the picture and influence the game. Hard to follow the puck at times as the clarity is just not the same as we get spoiled by at RPI TV. On many of the shifts, we need to keep up the forecheck as we are just letting CCT up the ice with long passes a bit too easily. The announcers have called these 'stretch passes' and pretty much that is what they are doing. Thankfully, Kasdorf has had a very sharp 40 minutes and CCT has missed some relatively open shots. Again, have to hope this does not turn into a special teams game as we continue to have trouble with face offs in our own zone.
