RPI @ Clarkson - 11/13/09

Re: RPI @ Clarkson - 11/13/09

Two periods in the books. This period just goes to show the team why they must stay out of the penalty box.
Give RPI credit for the come back, but without the penalties we would have needed not comeback. 5 on 5, we dominated.

Re: RPI @ Clarkson - 11/13/09

More than that, they have the confidence which they didn't last year.

I think also that these freshmen are used to winning in the past-they have not learned to lose-a trait that we had for several years. Playing just well enough to lose. We did that in so many games. These kids are used to scoring and just keep going like the energizer bunny.

Re: RPI @ Clarkson - 11/13/09

Second period over and we are up 4-2 as we have a surprising second period-this game is ours to lose. Anyone expect that we get called for several penalties in the third period? In th eold days you could bet on it with hometown refs.

Well, they did give Clarkson a two man advantage when we had a two goal lead. But they did take a goal away from them so maybe it will be an evenly called third period.

EHF-Jenny and I used to drive up to the North Country virtually every year in the 80's and 90's. I have seen some strangely reffed games up there-especially in the third period with lots of phantom calls. I think if they call it even we stand a great chance-we can score on the power play as well as anyone. I would just hate to see us play most of the period shorthanded or any period of time dow 5 on3. (I think we gave up 3 goals to UMass when we had only 3 men on the ice-and the game could have been so much closer if not for that)

Officiating in that UMass game was an unmitigated joke.

In women's hockey news: Quinnipiac and Harvard postponed from tonight until Sunday due to an "on-ice plumbing problem". Sounds like somebody needs to call Roto Rooter. ;)

That's how I saw it also. Power plays can make such a difference in the college game and 5 on 3 situations are almost a guaranteed goal. We spent more time 5 on 3 against us in that game than I have seen in some time.

It isn't cold enough to pour some water on the parking lot and play it outside? :P

Pointstreak seems to be having troubles. None of our recruits' games have been updated in about a half hour.
