Rpi @ bu 1/4/13

Re: Rpi @ bu 1/4/13

I was referring to the fact that because I did not start the thread I could only enter two tags which I used for RPI and Rensselaer. It is traditional also to include the "Clarkson Still Sucks!" tag. Someone, probably FLAGDude added it. A BU tag (and perhaps otehrs) could also be added except for the fact that vBulletin doesn't accept two-letter tags. I asked on the weekly thread what BU used as a tag and no one responded. Maybe it should be "BU Bulldogs". ;)
What's the point of the tags anyhow? Is it just flair. Do we get demerits if we don't have enough flair on the thread?

One can list all threads with a given tag. It can help in finding things. But I just believe in tradition.

The last game we played against BU was a lot of fun...hope this one doesn't turn as violent though,....!
Nearly 100 total PIM if memory serves. Agree with your sentiment ..hoping to see a smart, well played hockey game by RPI. If we can limit the PPs and dumb chances, we can beat 'em.

Until we find a way to win the battle of the special teams-your advice is just absolutely sound. We have lost too many games in which at even strength we are tied or ahead and just hammered by being a negative 3 or 4 on special teams. Sometimes the effect does not even show up in the score sheet. Imagine the tremendous momentum boost a team gets by playing against us short handed by two men and either shutting us down (or we shut ourselves down) or scoring a shorthanded goal against us. I would love to see our power play be near 20% but at the same time keep those odd man rushes and short handed attempts down significantly.

Doc it sounded like SA, in his interview, indicated that the second unit was going to be upgraded to the first unit.
With Bailen out, I see a very different PP. I expect two D on the points and hopefully a big body in front.
Could be a big change in how we go about attacking on the PP.

That's a good thing. The 4-1 hasn't worked. I'm glad Coach Graham has found something that does.

Two d (Leonard-Bradley, maybe), a pass-and-shoot pair (Lally/Haggs was tossed around in the RPI thread), and park Luke in front of the goalie :p

Re: Rpi @ bu 1/4/13

No Bailen also. At least Tinordi is back.

Would have preferred to see Tinordi on the starting line, though. He's great at setting the "tone" for the game, and his intensity usually rubs off on everyone else.
