Will not be here for the start of the game, but will join sometime around the second period.
We got a lot of help in the standings last night, now lets take advantage of that.

Lets go Red!!!!!!!!!

RB: I have some very old links to try but I doubt they would work. One is for an audio link and one is for a video - but the video link is extremely old and I only kept it to see that stunning female announcer they had for Yale back in the old days!! Adlon Adams.

Although I had forgotten, when you mentioned her name I certainly recalled her too. :-) What is the audio link?

The ECAC could become very interesting if we can beat Yale (which after seeing them in Troy is by no means a certainty) and we get some other help in the stands against Colgate and Cornell. A bye would certainly be the goal but 5th place would be almost as nice as we get home ice, the lowest seed to play and avoid QU and Clarkson in the second round giving us at least the best chance to go to Lake Placid that we might have.

Let's get on a winning streak!

Congratulations, sezenack, on your first-ever points in the thread-starting standings. I guess you only get two, even though the team got three.

If you're up to four after tonight's game, all the better.

In order to be as close to what we have been doing all along, i decided to still award 2 points for a win in regulation or OT and 0 for a loss in regulation or OT. Any game going to a shootout would be regarded as a tie. I don't think that anyone stated that this should change this season. We promptly lost in overtime to BGSU in a thread which I started. I gave myself 0 points. If I had changed to the way things currently work that would not have been the case. Since this was an OOC game, I would have received a weird fraction of 3 points under current NCAA rules.

i thought there would be no math? I hate the 3 on 3 OT and even more I detest the shootout. Hockey is a team game and should be decided as a team. I love the Stanley Cup format and could care less if it has to go 6 OT's all 5 on 5. One of the reasons i do not watch much soccer is the shootout at the ends of some games. For me it would be like decided the Super Bowl with Field Goal kicks from the 50 yard line. Or the World Series with a home run hitting contest. new rules do not always make a game better (some might).
You run the awarding of points in the scores thread so you decide what makes you comfortable and you think is fair.

RPI women, who will finish 10th in the ECAC, currently trailing 11th place Dartmouth 3-1 after 2 periods at HFH. If they lose this one they will have finished the season with 9 straight losses after a reasonably promising first half. Regardless of the outcome, the season is a step forward from a winless season, followed by a gameless season.

We are going to have to play a lot better tonight. We only beat Brown, because they played worse than we did.
Even the awful Brown announcers noted the lack of energy in the entire game.
We need to be skating from the opening face off.

Actually, I probably should abandon doing it completely because it causes people, including me, not to start threads on days when we are likely to lose. However, this year we often win the games we don't expect to win and vice versa.

Much of this year we have been involved in games like that. We win the ones that we play less bad than the opponent. We have had some really good games though - and even won a couple of them. But we have also played really well and lost. 55+ years of RPI hockey has taught me one thing - we are like a box of chocolates and you never know if we will be nougat, caramel, or creamy center. And sometimes we are just stale. But when we put it all together we are chocolate mousse and black forest cake put together!
Now I am getting a bit hungry.
