RPI @ Alaska, Friday, 12/10/21

Penalty killed. Alaska had five shots on goal, including a flurry of three in about 15 seconds, but Marshall stopped them all.

End of second period. RPI still leading, 2-0.

That'll do it for me. Hope the third period goes as well as the first two.

The Nanooks announcer confirmed that the trip was originally scheduled to have 4 games split between UAF and UAA. When UAA shut down their program RPI and UAF agreed to play the 4 in Fairbanks.

3-1 PP Goal at 16:29 (actually 6x4 with goalie pulled). Linden Marshall seems to lose quite a few shutouts in the last few minutes.

RPI 4 UAF 1 Jakob Lee ENG to set final score.

3 stars:
3 Pike UAF
2 Kjellberg (which the rink announcer somehow pronounced as "Shelby")
1 Linden Marshall

It sounded like the boys turned too passive late in the game - a problem that we've had in other games too. I didn't catch the final SOG but it must have been in the 35 to 25 range in favor of UAF.

Good night.

I missed most of this game. Woke up a few times after midnight here and got some of it. From what i could tell, the score might not show it but this was a hard hitting tough game. Looked at the box early this morning - we took the majority of penalties which might explain the shot differential being so much in Alaska's favor. But a win on the road! Hope for no let up tonight. Cannot get comfortable as this 1-12 Alaska team is no push over by any means.

Did not see any of the game last night, but it was the game I was worried about the most.
I thought that the long trip may have left some jet lag and cost us a good performance.
A good start to the Alaska trip.

RPI Scoring Summary:
1. Hallbauer (Kjellberg, Dubinsky)
2. Kjellberg (Beaton, Linden). PPG
3. Addamo (Brackett)
4. Lee (Leppanen) ENG

I went to bed early so I could listen to the game, but I didn't fall asleep a couple of hours, so I decided not to listen. i did wake up during the game.
