RPI 2025–26: Off the Critical List and In Recovery

I agree! It’s much better this year.
Not that important to the players but they need to update the music being played at the HFH. It’s absolutely ridiculous what’s being played.
I was at Colgate last Saturday and the difference in music selection was incredible. I don’t think they have changed the music in 10 years at the field house. Just adds to the game atmosphere and gets people moving more. Just a minor change
We could add a string quartet :)

Not a bad idea doc! Better yet just let the pep band play more.
When RB starts the off season thread we should discuss other things that could be done to get the fans back into the HFH. Coach Lang will have this team playing winning hockey which is a big part of it but we could think about what else can be done.

I had a chance to go back and listen to Lang's weekly appearance on Wyland's radio show. A few of his primary thoughts:

- Our goal in August was to be playing our best hockey late in the year...and we are trending that way
- Team has surrendered something like 2 goals or less in 7 of the last 9 games
- Commitment to being stingy, hard on pucks. Defend hard
- RPI remains at or near the top 5 nationally in team discipline (penalties) This will be a key this weekend vs. CCT
- Lang arranged for ESPN hoop commentator Jay Billis to address the team this week (ESPN contacts that Lang has)
- Expects a low scoring affair in Potsdam
- Credits Mathias Lange for being a "goalie whisperer" in developing our keepers. And credits Krawchuk for putting in the work.
- Culture is in a great place. Team doesn't want the season to end

Looking forward to the game this afternoon (4pm PST). Some of my old friends back in Troy ask me why I'm still an RPI fan.........in my blood I guess - Watson, Scammel and Law were our gym teachers at OLV and we really looked up to those guys. Went to college at Potsdam St and learned to hate Clarkson that much more!

Lang and company have their first 3 game winning streak. 9 more and it's all ours..........
