RPI 2025–26: Off the Critical List and In Recovery

I gotta say whoever they hired for social media is doing a great job. Never seen so much posting on twitter, instagram, etc. since I started at RPI. It's exactly what you need nowadays to generate interest for the more casual fans and students

We're going to have lots of turnover but not with players we care about
Yes, I'm old fashioned and naive so you don't have to tell me. I know there will be turnover beyond the 4 guys on senior day, but I hope that it is relatively mild. I've enjoyed watching this team improve over the last couple of months as it bought into Coach Lang's system. I also want to believe there is (as much as there can be in this annual free agent world of college sports) a commitment of players to the school and the school to the players. I like getting to know players games and their role on the team and even following them after they graduate. Carry over the culture with the emerging corps of this team along with a few well placed upgrades and I think we can be very competitive in this league. If it takes us an extra year to build out but the culture is strong, I'll take that trade off. Hopefully that's still possible in college sports..

I hope never to see another 80% rebuild like we did this season. As a resident of CT and occasional attendee of our state U's games, we just saw the most dramatic and hopefully never to be seen again turnover in the football team. The coach resigned after the season and the great roster roller coaster began. In addition to the graduates, more than 50 players transferred. The new coach has brought in 75 players, mostly from the portal. I think there will be fewer than 15 returning players - and many of those were freshmen red-shirting. There's almost no one left to provide continuity.

BTW, On the alumni front, has anyone noticed how Andrew Lord is killing it in the AHL? With Kirk MacDonald's S/WB team having another excellent year our school has become a leading producer of coaching talent to the pros.

RPI82- The success at coaching has been noted - add to that Brad Tapper and his Slovakia team in Bratislava which was supposed to be the doormat of the league fighting for the top spot all season and currently alternating between second and third place!

I would be surprised if he left. He’s a huge part of the rebuild. Lang has something serious brewing in Troy. He’s going to get top pp minutes. He’s going to develop right here under lang.
I agree that he is a large part of the rebuilding, and I don't expect him to leave, but someone could make him an offer that we can't match.

Sometimes, I can predict what someone here will post. :D

I just saw where maine is going to try and get sponser patches on their uniforms. As much as I don`t care for advertising on jerserys, I could live with Nvidia patches on our uniforms.

NCAA approved patches in January .

"...Effective Aug. 1, all Division I teams will be permitted up to two additional commercial logos on their uniforms and apparel and one additional commercial logo on equipment during the preseason and regular season, with an additional commercial logo on uniforms and apparel for conference championships. The patches will be limited to a maximum of 4 square inches per logo."

I agree! It’s much better this year.
Not that important to the players but they need to update the music being played at the HFH. It’s absolutely ridiculous what’s being played.
I was at Colgate last Saturday and the difference in music selection was incredible. I don’t think they have changed the music in 10 years at the field house. Just adds to the game atmosphere and gets people moving more. Just a minor change
