RPI 2025-2026

Attended both games. I thought they skated hard and displayed all the attributes I look for (team spirit, support for each other, hard work, and perseverance. Despite the two losses I enjoyed watching them play. I don’t see them winning too many games. Mainly because they suffer from the same thing that ails the men’s team: inability to put the puck in the net.

Also as mentioned earlier, my wife and I feel it is not fair , nor demonstrating school spirit, for us to get into women!s games for free. I asked AD Bowers how to donate to ensure the money goes to the women’s program and she displayed how to do it on her cell phone. I went home and donated $200 to the program. I think there are 14 or 15 home games and paying roughly half what the men’s games cost seems absolutely reasonable to me.

Doc he should have turned it into an ice cold gimlet.
I am definitely still a gimlet guy as long as it is a quality vodka. jenny kept trying to get me to drink the flavored Vodkas made by Van Gogh which she adores. The Dutch caramel sipped straight from the freezer is incredible but she mixes it with a little ginger ale and tells me it then tastes like cream soda. I tried it and it certainly does but after two of them i could not feel my teeth! She also mixes their Acai Blueberry Vodka with Seven Up and tells me it tastes exactly like a grape soda (i have not attempted that as yet). But a favorite now has to be their Vanilla Vodka with several Maraschino Cherries dropped into it and a touch of cherry syrup. it becomes a cherry vanilla bomb and is totally addictive.
Just a little bar tending aside while waiting for the season to start for the boys. Our local pub stocks all of these for us knowing that we try to be there for each of the ESPN+ broadcasts of RPI hockey. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gimlets are great! I would be all over the cherry vanilla bomb doc. I can’t do too sweet tho. Maybe 1-2

The quality of the Van Gogh Vanilla Vodka makes a difference. But after 2 of those, you cannot be held responsible for anything you say or do! The sweetness depends on how much of the cherry syrup you add. I normally just drop in 2 or 3 of the cherries and virtually none of the syrup.

BTW both of the ladies games this weekend should be on ESPN+.

So, is this rock bottom? Outshot 29-13 by Holy Cross. Holy Cross. I didnt see the game, but the line score is depressing. Looks like we took a lot of dumb penalties and had very little else to show.

We’re getting pretty close. Lots of penalties and not much offense. This is going to be a long season. Can’t score can’t win

We were horrible for 55 minutes and should have been behind by 4 or more goals. No offense at all, no speed and fortunate on many calls not going against us. The major penalty against #3 was richly deserved but unavoidable. We made it close with a fluke goal with the extra girl on the ice but the final score does not do justice to how much we were outplayed. Today is another game and remains to be seen if we can show any better.

I guess someone with a .453 win percentage like Coach Burke had, would be looked at as a savior.
Would love to see us reach that level this year. Having watched all the games this year thus far, there is considerable talent but it is all as individuals. There just does not seem to be any organized team play. I am hopeful we may see that as we move further into the season but as of now it just looks to me as if the ladies are not aware of where their teammates are or should be on the ice.

That’s nuts. 8 straight losing seasons with a 0-33 season in there and well on his way to another losing season this year. Bizarre that bowers would want to keep this going?
Did not get to see the game last night as the area lost all cable connections followed by a power outage. I was actually grateful!

Didn’t miss much doc. We really are struggling with team cohesion. Can’t score. I did see Trnkova scored in her 1st game at clarkson. It’s one thing to lose your best player but to lose her to clarkson? Yikes

RPI Athletics announces multi-year contract extension for Coach Vines.
How embarrassing. Why is there such a willingness on the part of the RPI Athletic Dept to accept (and reward!) consistently subpar results? Why is it acceptable to hold their women's program to a lower standard? And, what message does that send to future recruits?

A friend of mine once said, "RPI is where good hockey players go to die." and unfortunately, it looks like that'll hold true for "multi-years" to come.
