RPI 2023 Off-season: We March Fourth Into the Off-season

From T/U article:

"...At Boston U., Bowers worked for athletic director Drew Marrochello, who was an assistant football coach at RPI and later athletic director at Hudson Valley Community College. Bowers called him an "incredible mentor" and asked for his advice as soon as Parker Executive Search contacted her about the RPI opening.

Marrochello, who attended the news conference, advised Bowers against pursuing some other jobs over the years, but immediately told her RPI was the fight fit.

"She's awesome," Marrochello said. "She'll do a great job. She's a wonderful person. She's a really hard worker, and that can't be underestimated in society. She connects with a lot of people. She's got a toughness to her, but she's got a real compassionate side. The thing she's done at BU, which I'm confident she'll do here, is she's connected with all walks of the campus."

18 months ago, the school had a president who, to put it politely, did not "appreciate" hockey or its significance to the Institute, and a football-guy AD who came from a school where hockey competed at the club level.

Today the school has an unabashedly pro-hockey president and a new AD coming from a school where everything else takes a back seat to hockey.

I think these changes bode well for the future.

Today is 24 August 2023. There are 44 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 7 October 2023 for the start of next season.

I look forward to the positive support given to the hockey program from the new president and ad.
It has been a long time since we have seen that from the previous administration.
Congratulations to Dr. Bowers.

Yeah definitely nice to see the support from the president and ad.
The previous Administration was dog shit. Did everything possible to not support athletics.

Anyone know when season ticket applications are going out?

Not Yet. Not even the couple dozen or so season tickets for football which starts in mere days have gone out.

However, as of this mornings' reply of last night's SNYs' Sports Night, ads are running incessantly for RPI Hockey tickets. Approximately a half a dozen times over the course of a half hour show. Never seen anything like this before and find it quite odd that it is coming from a New York City based outlet available only on cable around here.

First reaction was that the frequency better go down or they will become as annoying as those Camp Lejeune spots and whatever effectiveness they may have will plummet.

The cable companies get a certain number of slots to insert local ads. It's strange that they would be running hockey ads in August, but given the Mets' season they were probably very cheap (may even be a throw-in of unsold slots in exchange for in-season advertising).

So I downloaded the brochure for this season and I mailed in our check for our seats (our 32nd I think). Talk about anxious to get the season going. I did not see on the brochure that season ticket holders would get an annual pass to the women’s games included. Hope that is not the case, but I’ll still go when I can even if I have to pay.
