Today is 30 June 2022. There are 93 days until RPI's next game. There is 1 day until RPI has a new president.

This is based upon 1 October 2022 for the start of next season and 1 July 2022 for the end of @#$%^.

I would avoid using the broad brush. It should be noted that one of the trustees was credited by Howard Deutsch for bringing the poor campus climate issues to his attention, urging he do an employee survey which upon completion, laid bare the wreckage caused under SAJ's tenure. I am optimistic that the new leader is WELL aware if the issues he faces and will have a game plan to hit the ground running.

I wasn't trying to push anyone out. I just wanted to know what the turnover was at the board.
The process for hiring a new president goes through the board, so I am sure that he was acceptable to the current board.
I am anxious to see how long it will take for him to even mention the hockey team.

We'll have a good indication this fall when the football/soccer teams play at home --- if fans are allowed. The fact that the hockey golf outing is slated to return on 8/8 is a good omen, in my view.

I just moved to Carlisle, PA this April. I now live half a mile from Dickinson College's football field.

I have no idea whether very many Dickinson football fans customarily travel to away games. But if there are any, I would hope that RPI would extend the courtesy of letting it be known, relatively early, whether fans are going to be allowed to attend RPI's home football opening game - for which Dickinson is the scheduled opponent.

The long dark night of our discontent is over. There is light on the horizon. There is hope. Welcome back Dr. Schmidt.

Barring a seismic shift beginning 7/1 you are hoping for a lot.

Since March of 2020, this particular institution has demonstrated nothing but sheer utter contempt, distain and even outright hatred for their own fans (and the families of their very own players too!!!). To get an idea of the mindset of the individuals running that place you only need to look at the terminology they used in any releases they issued that even remotely referred to fans. Gems like the about year old "external spectators", the toward the very beginning "social separation of spectators" (like leapers/dangerous animals??) and from the briefly released and quickly taken down comprehensive plan for return to athletic competition "management of spectators- to be determined" (like traffic, wildlife or fish and foul management??). Finding out when reading that garbage what they really considered fans, I really wondered if in their private meetings they referred to fans as Morlocks or Elois (from a very old futuristic movie).

Oh, without that seismic shift actually taking place, are Dickinson fans going to be extended any respect or common courtesy??? Not unless you hear of at least some hand picked cronies from a past regime being rendered inoperative and irrelevant, outright fired or "retiring" in the next few weeks. Failing that it will be the same old contempt, distain and hatred regardless of where you are from.

In Dr. Schmidt's introductory message this morning to the RPI community he made sure to mention that he still has RPI-authored textbooks and his BRFO cowbell (which puts him ahead of me, I think my cowbell was lost when my elderly parents' house was cleaned out). I'll take those as messages to the alumni that he remembers and cherishes RPI traditions. I'm hopeful.

As someone said before, he at least is aware of the existence of the hockey team, which is more than can be said of his predecessor
