RPI 2020 Off-season: Off-season Cancelled

Re: RPI 2020 Off-season: Off-season Cancelled

I am glad all the uncertainty and the inconsistent decision making has ended. I feel bad for all college hockey players. I think it would have been terrible to have the end of the season be decided with a huge asterisk attached to the results. There are many teams that are in the same boat as RPI. This will be the "What could have been" season. I look back to last summer and fall and what people on this site were saying. Not knowing what we would get this year. Hoping for the best but trying to be realistic based on the past several years. I wrote back then that if the team played for 60 minutes a game, were hard to play against, and we're fun to watch I would consider the season a success regardless of their record. My hopes were more than realized. I applaud the team and the coaches and I am sad I won't get to see the Seniors complete their careers. I wish them the best. I enthusiastically look forward to next season.

Eliotte Friedman just reported on the NHL Network that the NHL is allowing teams to sign players from College during this time. I'll be watching this situation closely for all you. I report, you decide.

Re: RPI 2020 Off-season: Off-season Cancelled

We won a simulation of Friday's game. :) https://fanforum.uscho.com/showthre...0-Postseason&p=6923668&viewfull=1#post6923668

Harvard @ RPI - Game 1:
Red-hot Rensselaer continued their hot streak early in Game 1, as the Engineers scored twice in the first twenty minutes, on goals by Ture Linden and Todd Burgess. RPI continued their domination over Harvard in the second period. After Harvard squandered back-to-back powerplays, the Engineers used the momentum and the lift from the home crowd to generate a powerplay of their own. This time, RPI took advantage, as Burgess knotted his second goal of the game on a beautifully-set one-timer from the near circle that flew past Harvard's Mitchell Gibson. Harvard nearly got back within two, when Colton Kerfoot had a breakaway, but RPI's Owen Savory sniffed out Kerfoot's deke to the backhand, and kept the Engineers three-goal lead. In the final stanza, the squads traded goals, as RPI got a tally from Patrick Polino, and the Crimson finally got on the scoreboard with about five minutes to go on a goal from R.J. Murphy. However, that is where the scoring would end in this one, as RPI earned a 4-1 win, and a 1-0 lead in the series.

The other three home teams also won.

That's a simulated win for me on the scores thread.;)

Note to RPI Thread Posters - I kindly request that you start signing your negative rep to me. I have my suspicions. RPIParent22 is at the top of my list because I believe they are not a parent but a member of the coaching staff or a family member of the staff.
