A wild guess. on our exhibition game.

Today is 12 March 2020. There are 205 days until RPI's next game.


This is based upon 3 October 2020 for the start of next season.

I suspect that this is the first time we ended the season with a win since 1985. It looks like EHF gets to start the next game thread.

We ended the season with a 4-game winning streak, the longest since 57-58 when we also won our last 4 games. 5 straight the previous year and 6 in 53-54.

Since the ECAC semifinals moved to Lake Placid in 2014, RPI and Yale are the only 2 teams not to have made it there yet. Both teams had an opportunity to make it a perfect 12/12 in 7 seasons, until COVID-19 decided to show up uninvited. :(

For Colgate, that's 2 graduating classes in a row to have never made the ECAC Final Four. Every graduating class from 2000-2018 at Colgate got to Lake Placid, Albany, or Atlantic City at least once.

I should have added that we didn't make it to AC or Albany either.

Cancellations would guarantee a > .500 record for the Seniors for the only season in their RPI careers. They would have rather earned it on the ice--and I think they would have--but deserving of congratulations nonetheless.

Wonder if there will now be a major league baseball season either? Who would have thought that the entire sports culture of the US would be cancelled over something like this? I would guess the last time so much had been cancelled was for WWII.

An awful way for my son and the other 7 seniors to end their college careers. They should be proud though, they have left the program in better shape then when they entered. They won their last game as Engineers, no title or ring to show for it but the standings will reflect the win. I will miss the fans and all the families we've made such great friends with over the past four years. It's been a great experience.

Your son and classmates deserve great credit for how they have handled themselves and for their perseverance. They accomplished something important and brought some fun and excitement back to RPI hockey. I am so sorry we will not get the chance to see what was possible through the playoffs with the team playing so well.

Ok, so I’ll ask. Now that your son will be graduating & after the nothing but positives from your Posts this season.......who’s your son :) BTW, we would all understand if you prefer to remain anonymous. I thinks "babs" (not Corey) was the only parent ATT who ever divulged her parental relationship.
