Re: RPI 2018 Off-Season: The Hunt for Red October

I was thinking about the fact that Ken Hammond (RPI '85) made large donations to both the IPad and Nolan Graham fund raisers. This made me recall something from about 20 years ago which was posted a lot here, but the posts have disappeared. It also was posted by me and perhaps others on the RPI_Sports list which I don't remember how to search. (Help!)

I found at that time an RPI '85 NCAA championship ring being offered on E-Bay. The name of the person was covered up, but it said #26, so it was Hammond's. There was speculation on why it was there. Was KH in need of money? Had he disassociated himself from RPI hockey? Was it stolen or lost? It certainly sounds now that it was stolen or lost. The bidding got quite high and it was withdrawn before the deadline.

Looks like Dallas won’t be signing Praps. I’m not really surprised........ Cincinnati Signs Prapavessis: The Cyclones , have signed defenseman Michael Prapavessis to an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO). He was a fourth-round draft pick by the NHL’s Dallas Stars in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. A native of Oakville, ON, Prapavessis just completed a successful collegiate career at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) where he accounted for 62 points (7g, 55a) in 154 career games. He also served as team captain during his senior season, and was teammates with Cyclones goaltender Jason Kasdorf during his freshman and sophomore seasons. He played junior hockey for the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) where he totaled seven goals and 55 assists in 72 games played over parts of two seasons. His brother, Matt Prapavessis, currently plays for the ECHL’s Greenville Swamp Rabbits. http://cycloneshockey.com/news/2018/03/game-notes-3-10-vs-ft-wayne

A day in and now up to $31k on a (new) $50k goal. RPI hockey community and some coaching friends are stepping up, too.

Up to about 39k now. I also see the Dartmouth and Union coaches also getting involved.

You have such a way with words, Ralph. :)
Math majors understand the proper use of the word 'fewer.'
