RPI 2018 Off-Season Part II: In Memory of WaP

Re: RPI 2018 Off-Season Part II: In Memory of WaP

I’m surprised you hadn’t seen this RB.....

MH| Individual game sales started at 9AM today (Monday). I saw it after I called.

Re: RPI 2018 Off-Season Part II: In Memory of WaP

In honor of Blake Orosz, today is 27 September 2018. There are 10 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 7 October 2018 for the start of next season.

According to the e-mail forum, there are still no captains.
Correct. I neglected to mention --that question was asked at ticket party. Smiths answer was Belicheckian ..." we're focused on UPEI"

I will say that the seniors who quickly stepped up to address the audience were Polino and Meirs Moore....certainly possibilities for A's / C's I would imagine

Polino is a leader but just to clarify, he’s a Jr.

Re: RPI 2018 Off-Season Part II: In Memory of WaP

Now that I think about it, given Coach Smith has been trying to implement his own system and is really shaking things up personnel-wise, it actually wouldn't surprise me if the captains rotate this year. If he blindly picks a junior/senior, it could be seen as being complicit in "the old ways". Nothing against who was selected last year, but we all know how well that went for us.

As for the scheduling, I believe him when he said that he inherited a mess. Before the Cornell game, he mentioned that before he got his hands on the schedule, we had ONE home NC game this year. I'm quite satisfied with what we have this time around, even if it's just 4 home, 6 away, and 2 neutral. That's not bad for where we're at now.

Doc, I think you also made a point about if Dr. Jackson is thinking about herself. After some consideration, I don't think that's quite it, at least not entirely. As much as she enjoys a large stipend (highest of anyone in the country in her position), the school's destruction seems to just be a cog in a common machine we're seeing all across the country. The same stuff is happening everywhere. Just look at the spiking tuition rates, the investigations of FIRE, and the consequences of everything else we complain about on here. And given her political connections, it is entirely intentional, and is what many of us are seeking to repel.

Didn't someone post (perhaps turk quoting the USHL board), that the third person who spoke, Brady Ferner, would be a captain by his junior year?

I don’t believe I said Ferner. After talking with Yeti after Polino committed it’s very possible I said him.

It was more recent and definitely Ferner. I guess that it wasn't you. Perhaps it was a comment on the USHL board or a comment to a Ferner tweet (now protected).

It was his coach Ralph. I believe this was posted in the recruit thread at some point.

That is indeed it. Good to see that someone remembers details. I didn't.

Back to the post here. While I don't expect him to wear a letter this year, there may indeed be a significance to his appearance at the season ticket event.

I tried doing a Google search on "investigations of FIRE," but all that came up was links to investigations of what happens when combustible material ignites. If FIRE is an acronym for something related to spiking tuition rates and/or everything anybody might want to complain about, the meaning eludes me.

Pardon my ignorance, but what are you talking about?
