Re: RPI 2017 Off-Season: We March 4th into the Future

I do know that there will be a new head coach in place by the banquet. The reason the banquet is being held on 4/22 is that the NCAA hockey coaches conference in Naples, FL is beginning on the 23rd and I'm sure the new coach will be attending.

We have already made other plans for that week so I can with total assurance that i will not be taking the position even if offered.;)

Everybody and anybody hockey related goes to that conference. Often Coaching deals happen then as well

Re: RPI 2017 Off-Season: We March 4th into the Future

I'm actully happy to hear that no recruit has left...yet. Shows that Nolan Graham is in contact with them....

I wasn't going to post it until I saw something official, but since I was not the only one who noticed it, Bailey Conger has removed RPI from his twitter page and it has also been removed elsewhere. It would be a big loss if he isn't coming and I suspect that he is not.

Re: RPI 2017 Off-Season: We March 4th into the Future

Today is 25 March 2017. There are 190 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 1 October 2017 for the start of next season.

It would not surprise me if he ends up at SLU.

He signed his NLI ... that means the AD would have to release him. And if he releases him he can put restrictions on where he can sign. Such as no ECAC schools.

That's true that restrictions could be put on him. We will see what happens.

You think he'd end up back at the first school were he go released from his NLI? Now that'd be a unique path to a school.

I actually feel bad for him, 2nd time he's had a coach leave after signing. We say the kids are supposed to sign with a school, not a coach, but that's not how it really works. I wonder if he ends up at UMass back with Carvel?

Re: RPI 2017 Off-Season: We March 4th into the Future

I suppose that RPI's new coach could convince him that RPI is still the place for him.

He did tweet something like "second time is a charm" when he signed his NLOI with us.

I don't think that he will end up at SLU, just that it would not surprise me. A problem is getting a scholarship at this time. I doubt that he wants to delay another year.

AD won't release him. And he's too old to make MJ effective.
