Re: RPI 2017 Off-Season (Part II): Mr. Smith Goes to Troy

Add: return of the band on the east end of the HFH, the WRPI announcers on the catwalk, Puckman on the uniforms, and financial responsibility by the RPI administration (but not the return of all of the poles blocking views from allover).

Ever since the hostile takeover, the student union won't get it back because of NCAA rules. I can't wait to read jericho's response to the catwalk. :p

NCAA rules prohibit bands from being positioned behind the goal?

Has the NCAA informed Princeton about this?

The "hostile takeover" is clearly in reference to the financial responsibility by the RPI administration. Good try, though.

Re: RPI 2017 Off-Season (Part II): Mr. Smith Goes to Troy

A fight between free agent signee left wing Zach Saar (Team White) and college invite defenseman Jared Wilson (Team Black) highlighted the second half. Normally you don't see fights during these scrimmages, but this one showcased two guys with considerable size - Saar (6-4, 236) and Wilson (6-3, 200).......... <blockquote class="twitter-video" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Drop the gloves, chuck some knucks, hug it out. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/DucksDevelopmentCamp?src=hash">#DucksDevelopmentCamp</a> <a href="https://t.co/mPZK7fy4Cs">pic.twitter.com/mPZK7fy4Cs</a></p>— San Diego Gulls (@SDGullsAHL) <a href="https://twitter.com/SDGullsAHL/status/881576320420913152">July 2, 2017</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Last thing we need is Willy blowing a rotator cuff in a meaningless fight at a Dev Camp...we've been through that before. Hope he (and Burgess) return to Troy unscathed.

Re: RPI 2017 Off-Season (Part II): Mr. Smith Goes to Troy

Jared Wilson will indeed be in Calgary’s Dev. Camp. Anaheim’s camp ends July 2 & Calgary’s begins July 4..... https://www.nhl.com/flames/news/flames-development-camp-roster-and-schedule/c-888053

Does that mean he is going to two of them or is Anaheim in error?
Calgary started their Dev. Camp today & Willy isn’t there. Looking at the Roster I previously Posted I now see it was from last year :o Here’s this year’s Roster..... https://www.nhl.com/flames/news/flames-development-camp-roster-and-schedule/c-290246970

Re: RPI 2017 Off-Season (Part II): Mr. Smith Goes to Troy

Gonna be a good battle in net this year. I watched the Vancouver scrimmage last night & Marshall is solid. He split the duties in net in each period & gave up 1g in the 1st period of 5 on 5....none in the 4 on 4 in the 2nd.....& 1g in the 3 on 3 in the 3rd. He also stopped all 7 SOG in the SO. All players took part in the SO. LM was the only goalie to not allow a goal.

That's great to hear. It can't hurt to have two competent goalies.

Two competent goalies can be tough in terms of who can get #1 and build a rhythm. Granted, there are plenty of great teams that switch games, and given how prone we are to injury, it's not too bad of an idea. I'm a little on the fence, but probably also because it's a new coach, so I don't know how things are going to go down. Hoping for the best.

Competition at any position is a good thing. As long as the players ego doesn't get in the way, we will be fine.
