If any of my RPI hockey friiends want to buy us a baby gift, our registry is online at Buy Buy Baby and Target :D. Doc, may be a great excuse for you to use Jenny's credit card. Lol. J/k, just a shameless plug

Re: RPI 2017 Off-Season (Part II): Mr. Smith Goes to Troy

Ralph, let me break up this Memorial Day long weekend with a post... ;)

Enjoy the unofficial beginning of Summer! And RPI's next hockey game is 126 days away.
Any word on where Bryan Vines will land?

That 10/1/17 date is a guess. We don't know when an exhibition game will be played or even if there is one.

History & Tradition are fine, just please Coach Smith, don’t start saying, “we have to get back to playing" ‘the Engineer way’. I’ve had just about enough of that from the previous.

Did we ever figure out what the Engineer Way is? :)

Make one big stand and rest on your laurels.

Lose one job and land a better one. Sounds like a win for Coach Appert and the "Engineer way"...which should now be called the "American way".

I added that to my list of phrases I never want to hear again a long time ago. I think I might add that we we had a really good week of practice to that list also. I just want to hear we had a very good weekend instead.

I second that emotion!

Oh we heard that plenty of times as well, even when it was clear we played for about 25 minutes of the game. My expectations for our team are exactly the same regardless of who is behind the bench: A 65-minute effort by every single person placing the RPI jersey upon him (or her; would like to see the same from the women's team as well) on each scheduled afternoon or evening. We might end up with a win, a loss, or a tie. If we play hungry for a victory every single second, it doesn't matter what the scoreboard says.

Thank you Doc. Whatever "Engineer Way" that existed in terms of a successful program was snuffed out by Appert. Let's hope Coach Smith puts focus on substance and results instead of style & marketing.
