Good night for former Engineer D-men with the exception of Eric Burgdoerfer. Went -4 in Hershey’s big showdown with W/B-S yesterday (6-5 OT loss). Both Teams tied for 1st. Not to stay on this Thread with the alumni but Eric has 5g this year (AHL), Luke now with 4g (ECHL)......maybe they should’ve shot more here

(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, announced today that Mark Miller has joined the Rush ahead of the team’s final road trip of the regular season to Alaska. He will wear #77.

Miller, a 23 year-old native of Massena, New York, comes to the Rush after the conclusion of his college hockey career at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institue in the NCAA. With the Engineers, the 5’11”, 185-pound forward skated in 136 contests over the course of four seasons, registering 22 goals and 24 assists for 46 points. Prior to the start of his collegiate career, Miller played for two seasons in the USHL with the Omaha Lancers, recording 16 goals and 14 assists for 30 points in 116 games.... http://rapidcityrush.com/news/?article_id=635

Re: RPI 2016 Off Season thread: A Drivel-free Summer

IIRC, when Jason Kasdorf signed with Buffalo, it was announced that he will complete his degree requirements and graduate with his class in May.

I suppose the athletic department can make special arrangements to ensure that even if hockey players leave school before the end of the semester to pursue dreams of a pro career, they can still manage to complete the academic requirements to receive their degrees.

I wonder if that is true of the average RPI student who isn't a professional-caliber athlete.

If an employer offers Joe Tool a job on the condition that he start working full time in March, can he accept, trusting that in this wonderful age of the Internet he will be able to complete his degree requirements online? Or are things still pretty much the same as they were when I was at the Tute - if Joe Tool wants to get his degree, he's got to stay on campus and finish up his coursework, and corporations understand that if they want an RPI grad to work for them, they'll have to wait until he graduates?

So hopefully none of this ridiculous RPI to Hockey East talk starts up. That's a non-starter. The only candidate is Q. End of story.

RPI blew their chances when they had a legitimate shot. Doubt there is interest on either side today.

Qpac Im sure is the addition to HEA. RIT into ECAC. I still think at some pt the Ivies peel off, I cant imagine they were pleased with the way that ECAC ran tourney this weekend. I'm calling for realignment when this happens. My new league would be the Empire League, Tute, Onion, RIT, Gate, Clarkson, SLU, Niagara, Cansius, Niagara. I would be league czar and Fishcore would be Dir. of Officiating.

After a few tweets back and forth with WaP, Holy Cross is a much better fit for the ECAC, at least geographically. RIT would blow up the current travel partner system.

Actually, if you partner Princeton with Cornell and RIT with Colgate, it actually helps it out a bit, especially when it comes to difference between ivy and non-ivy. However, if CHC came in, probably partner with Dartmouth, and the others would go back to the partners we had in the days when UVM was in the ECAC. Only trouble is that CHC would probably have to move up their women's team from D-III, as having the same teams for men and women is attractive to the league.

Niagara has two teams? :)

as a twist, I wonder when UMass will get voted off the HE island. That program has turned into an embarassment and not a good look for HE.
