There once was a poster named FreshFish,
And jeers of FlagDUDE08 he would dish;
But try all his might,
Flaggy was right,
And suddenly the jeers did vanish.

Re: RPI 2016 Off Season thread: A Drivel-free Summer

Boys played hard, but poor goaltending, too many giveaways and bad penalties spell embarrassing weekend at Harvard. Harvard was too good and RPI just doesn't have enough healthy skilled players to compete with top 10 teams. They are due for a season of few injuries. If that happens they may get a chance to make The ECAC semifinals for the first time in forever. Next year is THE year. No excuses. Make it to the NCAA tourney or clean house. Unless, of course, RPI doesn't care about excellence.

Re: RPI 2016 Off Season thread: A Drivel-free Summer

The good, the bad and the ugly:

The good :)
Beating #1 Boston College 2-1
Sweeping Union, including the Mayor's Cup
Winning a home playoff series for the first time in the Appert era

The bad :(
Being swept at home on Freakout weekend
Being swept in Alaska
5-2 home loss to Michigan

The ugly 😫
Not much, except for this weekend.

All in all, a better season than expected. Let's hope for a healthier team next season and a good freshman class coming in.

Alas, now our season is done....:(
though you can't say it hasn't been fun! :)
Don't feel too dejected,
We did much better than expected,
And next year portends an even better one!

im optimistic that the offense will see an uptick next year at least. It'd be nice to have a "complete team" to root for for a change.

I hope we get the full story on Kasdorf. Not sure how he can dress and not play, injury or not.

Disappointing end to a promising start. Something fell off the table from the first visit to Bright, and the second. Still no LP visits during Appert's tenure and a similar result.

Apparently he was injured last night. That's what Dr McElroy told me anyway. He was sitting right in front of me.

Groin pull. They tried to wrap it super tight so he could play because he's a senior and it was his last game, but he just couldn't go. He stayed dressed because it was his last game and he wanted to be on the bench. Buffalo scout was none too pleased.

Actually, I heard that the injury occurred during Friday morning's skate.
He "gave it a go" on Friday night, but he wasn't 100%, which was why SA pulled him on Friday with hope that he would be good to go on Saturday which unfortunately was not the case.
As I mentioned last night, it must have very disappointing for Jason to finish his RPI career (assuming that he doesn't use his redshirt year) sitting on the bench watching his team get blown out in the third period.

I would really try to understand how you can be optimistic. Exactly what is your basis? Granted, last season was so horrid there couldn't help but be some improvement this year. However after what we saw last night, if Kazzy bolts does it look like we have an able replacement in the net? An 'uptick' from mediocrity after 10 years of disappointments isn't a reason for optimism. Sorry, but I'm not taking the same meds as you apparently.

Injury... limited mobility... not 100%. And the Buffalo scout was not happy? Kazzie 's played every minute of every game since he returned from his early-season injury. He's earned some good will with me.
