Re: RPI 2015 Off Season Thread: Another Long Spring and Summer :(

He left that hellhole and has had much more success in Sunrise.

Pirri was traded for a bag of pucks.

Wouldn't play the 200 foot game and there was really no room for a floater on the Blackhawks. So he was forced to "leave" the hellhole that is currently in the Cup final, to play in front of 9,000 fans every night in Sunrise.;)

But it's definitely a better opportunity for him to play more minutes.

I don't want anything about a team I cheer for to resemble anything like the Chicago Blackhawks.

well, that's what we have now, isn't it, and people don't seem very happy with it. :(

I merely said "their style of play," it had nothing to do with former players or decisions they may have made....

Great post. No way Pirri's current game fits w/ Chicago. Too bad, BC that hellhole & team is on their way to a 3rd SC in 6 years. It helps when you have Towes, Kane, Keith, Seabrook...

as well as a coach who does a good job of making intra-game adjustments to the other team's strategy, rather than insisting his team always play the same way no matter what....

(You guys are all missing that I just hate the Blackhawks)

Oh no, no one's missing that. We're just showing further irony in this hatred you have described. ;)

Hey, it's the off-season, and we have to cheer ourselves up somehow after someone decided against us.

Dr. Bill Whyland died just a few days ago. He was 91. His funeral was in our parish today.

Many may remember him as 'the RPI team physician' for many years. Hockey, football and lacrosse players may remember him in particular. (Some of you may remember him gesturing with his rolled up program, slapping it on his leg or the arm of his seat at the Field House [or the person seated next to him] all through the game.)

Please keep Bill and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

I imagine he and Doc Pahl are picking up their conversation where they left it off years ago.

I remember his name, but I didn't know him. Sorry to hear.

Re: RPI 2015 Off Season Thread: Another Long Spring and Summer :(

There is a rumour on the RIT thread that both RPI and Union will be have a two-year series with RIT not this upcoming year, but in the two following years. It will probably be Niagara involved as the fourth team in the setup, but I'm sort of hoping it's Canisius instead, as we have yet to ever play them.
