RPI 2011 Recruit Thread

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread

Of course, JD'A and BP were drafted, and JL wasn't. I do think that there is a connection, but it is the fact that he won't be playing second third fiddle at center to CP and BP next season.

That is more like what I am thinking. Trying to compare JL's path to the pro levels with that of 2 high draft choices is just reaching too far. I do expect JL to thrive at the NCAA level. I have had 2 NHL scouts say to me that this kid's game is just made for NCAA play. Could he be the RPI version of Martin St. Louis or Brian Gionta? Maybe not, then again, maybe a close approximation wouldn't be so bad. ;)

It had pretty much been accepted that the talented, however, that the speedy center would never play for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Gotta have me one of those. I already have a hat of theirs. Great logo.

I don't want you to get too amped up Aspy, but the BRO just might be standing next to Saponari (to Luke's left in the photo). I honestly can't tell from the pic (VS is 6'0 190 ish) but that should be enough to get you goin'....Maybe the BRO has begun his recruitment ? ! :D

What me speculate? No. Here's my PP for 11 season. JL,VS, Johnny Rocket, Koudys and Bailen :p Never too early to dream.

I don't think that is VS.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread

Ed Weaver and The Record make so many mistakes..

While on the subject of accuracy, JL was listed at 5'9 175 by the Colts last season (Ed wrote 5'7 170). Its not out of the question that Jake will be at or near 5'10 180 - on paper at least - by the time he hits Troy... (I think the height is more likely than the weight....:p)

Weaver may be correct about this. 5'7" may be closer to the truth.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread

I dunno, he's been 5'7 an awfully long time, Hockey Canada had him listed at 5'7 in 2008 & 2009. If he's still 1.7m tall, it may be time for some HGH.... :D

I think 5'7" could even be a slight exaggeration. Doesn't mean he can't score 30 in one year for us.;)

I think his weight might be more of an exaggeration than his height...as I stated long ago, this kid needs to have an IV drip of protein/carb shakes running 24-7..:D With 2-3 daily trips to Burger King for Double Whoppers with cheese.
