Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

Article says he's been recruited by The Gunnery, London Knights, Ottawa 67's, Providence and UNH. Later on in the report it asks where he'd like to play in the future, schools he mentioned were UNH, Maine, Providence, RIT and Quinnipiac.

Dont think its been mentioned but he plays left wing, they also list him at 5'10" instead of 5'8" like USHR has listed.

Thanks. Do you know when that was written?

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

It was written while he was playing for the Halton Hurricanes, I believe it was in 2008-09.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

Just looking at Ralph's track sheet of the new recruits, there really is a chocolate mess of offense coming in next year...whoa. :D

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

Those worried about Jake Wood's size, keep in mind his age first of all, but also the fact that smaller players with speed and skill do very well in college hockey. At the top end of things, guys like Martin St. Louis stand out as examples and currently you can look no further than Team USA candidate and current North Dakota player Rocco Grimaldi.

If this kid plays with a bit of an edge to his game, Theo Fleury comes to mind as a pro as he was 5'6" and a mean SOB on the ice.

It's great to hear all this news about potentials and committals. Anyone doubting Seth and his staff on the recruiting trail now?

I don't think there was ever any doubt in Coach Appert's ability to recruit, but rather doubts in other areas.

And those doubts have, at their base been... "waaaaaa waaaaaaa why don't we have championships yet, waaaaaa waaaaaa I have the patience of a toddler, waaaaa waaaaa, etc."

Generally.

Bingo. Get from Step A to Step C by yesterday, and if you go through the required Step B, it's considered failure.

I predict 4 posters on the RPI threads calling for Coach's head should we not make it to Atlantic City, and all for these reasons.

Don't count me as one of them...I remember when he came to campus and hearing everyone's yells and complaints that success wasn't immediate (coming from people employed in higher ed which makes it even more laughable)...it takes time to build a successfull program...people need to understand that.

However, I will say that we have the talent to make it to AC...a first round playoff (pending a bye) loss would disappoint.

I never said whom I would count. However, if you would like some hints, I would recommend looking towards the arguments that took place this past March and filled up a thread.
