Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

Keeping JL off the score sheet is a little like the NY Rangers keeping Ovechkin off the score sheet(Oh wait-last night the Rangers did just that in beating Washington 7-0:eek:)

FWIW, Matt Neal has been more consistant than JL this season, not scoring a point in only 3 games, while JL has been held off the scoresheet in 5 games.

As i had mentioned before-I do think Neal is the Real Deal. And he is along with JL in the top 3 scorers coming in. Replacing Polacek, Helfrich and Brutlag-we will need at 3 if not more boys who can put the puck in the net-and i think we may have just that.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

It is beginning to look very much like we will have 3 new Amigos coming in next year-we may have to come up with a name for this trio since it is likely we will be seeing them on the scoresheet a lot! If they were on one line they are pretty alphabetical as the LMN line. (sort of reminds me of the old Soviet KLM line for those old enough to remember:rolleyes:)In any case we should be in for some fun.:)

These guys definitely have a ton of potential Doc...it will be fun to see them in Troy. Not to mention the physical presence of the BRO going over the boards. I for one would have loved to have had him out on the ice for the BU temper tantrum.:p Teams will be less willing to cheap shot our guys, knowing that certain members of our d-corps WILL be conducting "diplomacy" exercises in our end.... :D

Now all we need is a goalie or two. :D (I'm not worried -- I have no doubt that Seth is hard at work on this front.)

Boy do I ever agree with that. I think Luke would have certainly made his presence felt-and I do mean FELT. And I suspect coach SA would have sensed what was coming and had him out there on the last shift.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

This Week in the USHL recently did an interview with Dubuque goaltender Matt Morris whos name has been brought up here in the past. He doesnt mention any particular college hes interested in but wants to take his time and make the right choice. Found out he lives with F-Riley Barber who I wouldnt mind seeing in Troy someday, maybe if we recruit Matt he can help out with that. :D Also talks a little bit about Luke during the second half of the interview.

He would be excellent. Stellar season in DBQ.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

Confirmed in the BU-RPI never ending thread (I love HE fans) that Vinny Saponari is not going to BC  Hmmmmmmmmmm. WS, will talk me off the ledge on this one but VS would look good with Neal and JL. Just a thought.

Nice pickup RH. Agree about Barber - the kid is a stud....son of NHLer. I remember reading that his father was leaning hard toward Barber going Major Junior (5th rnd. - Windsor) and he attended their prospects camp, but more recent comments have been that he is keeping his D1 options open (has had interest from NoDak, MSU & Cornell and hoepfully RPI) :p.

Hey, I have no trouble with the idea. Just my gut telling me he'll stay in HE. I would be more than happy to be proven wrong.... yet again!

FWIW, Heisenberg still lists him under BC.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

I know I said that to the guy on the board and he responded right away that is was reported a month or so ago.

Yes indeed it was, but besides for believing in Seth Appert, I believe in Chris Heisenberg. :D

FWIW, the other teams on his list when he decided on BC were New Hampshire, Vermont, Northeastern and RPI.
