He was resting up for his bus ride to Troy NY;) The kid just does not let up. I am expecting great things from him in a cherry and white uniform.

TCE might win the tourney for the first time this year. I see that Russia, which was soundly beaten by TCE 9-1 in an exhibition match, defeated TCW today.

With Ginn on the bench for the extra attacker and Canada East enjoying a 6-on-4 advantage, Laliberte jumped on a rebound in the slot and slid a backhand through the legs of Yanakeff, setting up a raucous celebration among the pro-Canadian faithful at Molson Canadian Arena at CUP and forcing an overtime few thought likely when the puck dropped to begin the third period.

RB thanks for the link-is it just me or does JL look about half the size of his counterpart on the other team in that photo? Perhaps it was the angle, the camera or maybe even the uniform-but size is not his forte for sure:eek:

Number 10 for the US is listed on the roster as 6'0". I think that JL is taller than 3'0". :) No doubt, however, that size is not his forte, but I would be happy with a Martin St. Louis.

That comparison along with Brian Gionta has been made to me before-JL seems to be a small package of fireworks. I would hope we have some larger talent to go along with him for next year. I would like to see at least one forward who can park his body in front of the net.

None of the above. He was just standing next to a corn-fed Iowan.:D
USA #10 is '90 forward David Gerths - 6-0 195...Notre Dame bound. He's a Doc D proto-forward!

Both Gionta and St. Louis play with chips on their shoulder...time will tell if JL has that kind of intensity at both ends of the ice. That said, I sure look forward to finding out, while he is burying pucks against our opponents. :D

My team would have everyone over 6' and all over 190. With even bigger defensemen. But they would all have to be able to skate with the little guys. :)

JL is taking a few more penalties this year-He may be developing that chip you are looking for. He certainly has the offensive intensity-I am pretty sure he will score at any level he plays at.

That's one of the things I really like about the Wallin kid from Gunnery that RPI is chasing. Aside from his reported offensive talent, he's a '92 and is already nearly 6'0 180ish. Plenty of frame to hang some meat on

The NHL CSB has Gunnery froward and RPI recruit in waiting Terrence Wallin on their '10 draft watch list: http://portal.gunnery.org/NetCommunity/Page.aspx?pid=287&articleID=1446

"...Terrence Wallin begins his junior year with momentum gained from a stellar sophomore year and an equally impressive summer. The Avon, CT native arrived at The Gunnery in 2008 after years with the Mercer Chiefs of the AYHL. The slippery forward did not disappoint the Highlander coaching staff as he finished second on the team in scoring as a sophomore with 46 points. He continued his great play at the Select 17 Festival in Rochester, NY and earned a spot in the All-Star game, an event that brought together the best 20 forwards in the U.S. born in 1992. Wallin keeps a level head by putting the team first and focusing on the task at hand. "

It isn't often that I dig one up before you do ! :D...every once in a full moon... In fact, when I posted this one, I was pretty sure you were going to tell me it was old news...:D

The Gunnery has not yet posted its hockey schedule. AA's schedule is up, and it does not appear that Gunnery will be in town in the early going. Then again, they have home and away tourneys listed in Dec., but didn't bother to list the opponents on the schedule.

Another little blurb about Wallin from the NE Nordiques website....not sure how they have inside intel, but whatever:

"....Terrance Wallin of The Gunnery. Terrance is listed as a “C” player on the (NHL CSB) list and has been highly recruited; expect him to make a commitment very soon."

http://www.newenglandnordiques.com/

Also, FWIW - the NHL CSB has him listed at 5'10.5" 166 lbs., RW

This kid sounds like one we could really use-also sounds like one we would never even be considered for a few years back. Hope we are in the running.
