The first few hockey programs that I have from the mid-60's for games vs. SLU call them the Larries. A few years later it changed to the Saints. Apparently "Larries" was unofficial like RPI being called the Bachelors at one time.

Well aware.

In honor of Chase Polacek and Andie Le Donne, today is 14 September 2010. There are 21 days (3 weeks) until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 5 October for the start of next season.

RB: I just realized that you have been simply listing names...I thought they were birthdays until I realized that everyone on the team would have been born in September  :o ...blonde moment (I better not try to make change today... )

You mean we are not called the Bachelors any more? Where did the time go? I still have several of the old Bachelor Magazines that used to be published quarterly by RPI. I think they are dated 1963 or 1964. Pretty racy stuff for it's day.:D

They're listed by jersey number as it relates to number of days remaining before the first (men's) game. 21 days = Chase Polacek and Andie Le Donne, both number 21.

I have been listing them when the number of days left corresponds to their uniform number. Thus today there are 21 days left and Chase Polacek wears jersey #21. I have been doing this for quite a few years now. I really should list the women relative to their first game, but I use the men's first game for both.

Edit: As GRusssinko said. :D

I threw out my copies of the Bachelor when my mother moved in 1978. I don't think that "racy" is the word I would use. "Gross" or "off-color" might be better. :)

Funny stuff, are you a journalist? Nope didnt think so. Maybe you should think about entering that line of work so you can produce award winning material. Be a real fact checker with your editor breathing down your back for a story by the deadline....oh hold on boss I need to check where the guy who scored for our hometown team played his junior and college hockey.

While amusing, all of this blather has nothing to do with what we were discussing. But we know that you, for one, will look forward to many more "score" articles and "he may go, he may not go" quotes from the S-Freeloader. :D

The B.R.O and a company shot a few TV ads recently...:p  :D Funny this story had nothing to do with scores, and yet we learned something about what Monty thought of what the player got out of the experience...could it be.... insight? :D

"...They had to put a little makeup on my face, which was a little different, but it wasn't too bad. I didn't have any lines, so I couldn't mess them up. All I had to do is look good..."

Thinking about commercials, there is a second Puckman commercial on the RPI athletics website. IMHO, it isn't as good as the first one. I assume that these are being shown on CD TV stations.

I don't watch much TV, but I haven't seen or heard of any...if they have done a media buy, they may well be waiting until the RS approaches to air them.

In the context of their time period they were certainly different and risque. :)

I have not seen them on any area TV stations or local cable avails. I would hope that they would do something more professional for TV. These are fine for their website and internal distribution.

"Risque" is a good description. :)

Seems like a lot of effort if that is what they are being used for.

Thanks, GR, I am also unobservant as I didn't notice more than one player named at a time...I am moving on with what little dignity I have remaining...

At least you have more dignity than some posters on these forums; I won't mention any names, but I think you can guess about whom I am typing...

FWIW, Chase's birthday is in June.

I know JL is coming to RPI thanks to Ed Weaver thats all I really care about right now. The point I was trying to make is that we get on here and call out journalist for their mistakes which I fully respect that right to do, however I have always said that if you can do something better than the person your making comments about then by all means go do it. Besides Im looking forward to the 2010-2011 RPI hockey season not the 2011-2012 season already.

So now I have to change careers because I call out incorrect or lazy reporting? Wow, that's gonna set back my plans to retire to Bora Bora. :p
