See #958 of the old thread. I think its safe to say that Vinny will have plenty of options for '11.

Can you imagine if JL and VS come in the same year? FD08 would have to splice together YR, GH, Days of Our Lives and All My Children themes for that one  Kid does deserve a second chance, he is only twenty. Why not in Troy.

If that were to happen somehow, that would be a nice way to make up for potential losses of Pirri and D'Amigo. It'd also make for dramatic additions to those two if they stuck around for a third year.

Vinny Saponari does not constitute soap opera material. Jacob Laliberté (to which I have taken akin to pronouncing similar to that French-Canadian reporter), on the other hand, we have been following for the past two years, we never know if he will be showing up, therefore it constitutes soap opera material.

...JD'A was a scratch...talked with him before game...feelin' good, not down at all. Said he'ld probably be in Troy this coming week to start participating in the Cap'ts workouts at the Knick. Team USA looked very sluggish for the 1st 20 min.'s & 33 seconds...then proceeded to open a can of whoop-a#*...scoring 7 unanswered goals...Kyle Palmieri had a monster game...thought we might get a chance to see Isles (Cornell '10) in goal after Campbell gave up a goal 33 seconds into the 2nd but they stayed with him. One question I meant to ask JD'A was, what team will he play for (assuming he makes squad:rolleyes: ) on Dec. 19? A writer for hockeybuzz.com told me he will absolutely play for Team USA. Have to ask him next week.

Today is 8 August 2010. There are 61 days (2 months) until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 8 October for the start of next season.

I'd be most surprised if he doesn't play for Team USA if he is on the team.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

Both Drew Stafford and Danny Kristo played for Team USA when USA played UND. Jerry would play for Team USA.

He would absolutely play for Team USA if he's a member of that team.

Jerry would pull a Pele and play 30 minutes for RPI then switch and play 30 minutes for Team USA :D

Coach Appert is today's guest picker for the TU Horse Picking contest at Saratoga...I might place a few bets and follow the picks coach made...Hopefully he makes me some money.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-season thread V: Captain Kennedy and the A-Team

There was never any question as to which team D'Amigo would play for in the USA-RPI exhibition, none whatsoever. Why would he play for RPI if he's on the team? How would that make any rational sense whatsoever considering that the game is a tune-up for an international competition?

A little disappointed not to see D'Amigo play yesterday after making the trek to Lake Placid, but I did notice something interesting. He's listed at 5'11", 210 by USA Hockey, RPI had him at 5'11" 190 before the start of last season.

When D'Amigo was scratched alongside Jack Campbell, John Ramage, and Ryan Bourque, I wasn't too concerned. They all played last season, too. Then yesterday, he was scratched along with some guys who aren't necessarily shoo-ins for the roster and I kinda scratched my head at that one. Perhaps he's the biggest shoo-in on the roster and Allain doesn't need to see any more from him, or is there a problem here? The overall talent level in camp this year is even higher than it was last year, considering the gobs of 1st and 2nd rounder Americans in the draft this year. Who knows? One does get the feeling, considering that Allain is familiar with D'Amigo from the ECAC and that he's the highest returning scorer in the world to this competition, that the former might be the case.

EDIT: Co-highest returning scorer in the world, forgot that Taylor Hall, who also had 6 goals/6 assists last year, also has remaining eligibility.

Just a thought, if he put on 20 pounds, might he have lost a step?
I am sure that he is already penciled in on the national team. Allain knows all he needs to know about JD'A.
Considering all the big hits he took last season, those extra pounds will come in handy when he retaliates. :D
