HF article on CBJ's collegiate prospect pool

Allen York, G, 21
Acquired: 6th round, 158th overall, 2007

An important part of R.P.I's success last season, York has not only continued his individual success, but has bettered it, becoming a standout goaltender at the collegiate level. Through 33 games, he has posted a record of 18-10-4, with a 2.05 goals against average and a .927 save percentage. He has recently been named a finalist for the Ken Dryden award, annually presented to the ECAC's top goaltender. Since his freshman season, York has vastly improved his numbers in the following season, leaving it reasonable to suggest that the Alberta native could likely forego his senior season and accept a pro contract in the offseason, if one is indeed offered.

Hopefully York will follow the trend that NCAA goalies have had in the past-turning pro later in their careers especially after seeing how Pirri and D'Amigo have fared so far.

Another crucial factor would be Columbus's depth of goalies in their farm system.

The team had a good hard practice today. Everyone is rested and healthy. Most of team went home over weekend.

Glad to hear they're still going strong. Not sure what to expect, but if we do make the tourney we could easily be the most rested team there. Hard to say whether that would be a good thing or a bad thing. Maybe RPI and Union can scrimmage against each other while everyone else is in AC next weekend to prepare. :D

This morning I awoke with a strange feeling. At first I attributed it simply to gas. But as I thought I realized that if we do indeed make the Tournament-even as the number 15 seed-we could make some team miserable. We always seem to play to the level of the competition-so why not expect us to do that against one of the top 4 teams in the country? I am not ready for this season to end for our boys and I am sure they want to play some more. Besides, this team could use a little trip.:)

It would also be nice to go to a regional that starts on SATURDAY, not that other day of the week.

(oops, back to lurking)
