UAA's record against CC at the Final Five: 1-0.

The real question is, can CC play defense? Because that's what you need to do against UAA. If it's all offense all the time, UAA will win. Gophers found that out.

UAA and CC met at the Brice Alaska Goal Rush on Oct. 15, with the Tigers winning, 4-3 ... in the WCHA regular season, the teams split at Colorado Springs with UAA winning 4-3 in overtime on Nov. 26, before the Tigers won, 2-0, on Nov. 27 ... on Jan. 14-15, the Seawolves swept the Tigers for the third time in school history, 4-1, 2-1 at home ... the teams have met four times in the WCHA First Round, but only once at the WCHA Final Five, with UAA winning, 4-1 in the play-in game on March 18, 2004.

UAA has given CC fits for quite some time, and I see no reason to expect anything different here. Great win for UAA in Minnesota, and I have to say I was really happy to see it happen, and happy for you UAA fans on this board who have stuck with your team through so much. CC is coming off of a great series against Wisconsin, and for the first TWO times this year, has won after being down going into the third period. This has got to be a huge confidence boost. Joe Howe found a groove in game 2 and carried it into game 3. When he is on his game, watch out.

Both teams have been better than expected this year, so having them in the Final Five certainly comes as a surprise to a lot of people. Seems to me that both teams are playing very good hockey right now and have a ton of momentum, so it should be one hell of a game.

I know you've been struggling with this whole fan forum concept but lemme splain a couple of things. When a thread is languishing and someone comes in to revive it with some mildly creative dig (as above) then etiquette requires you take a couple of approaches in order to further the fun.

One might be to parrot the original in some manner. Or perhaps go "off board" with something wholly unique. But simply retorting that I'm really the one that smells is just pure UNDness. I schooled Dirty along these lines several times in the deep past here and just look what he has become. Sure sometimes he reverts to the inane or even delves into blatant gossip like a 9 year old girl. But overall the guy does try to at least to be funny.

In summary ... me=funny ... you=notsomuch. But there's hope. As long as I withhold the commentary about grown men still wearing skater pants with the back pockets in the vicinity of the back of their knees ... then you can hope.
