Depends how the contract is written. I would think that AmericaOne has exclusive rights to the digital streaming broadcast of the game(s? Is MTU on AmericaOne?).

Local TV broadcast should be okay (again, depending on the verbiage of the contract with AmericaOne).

Unless TV6 was going to be lazy and just simulcast the AmericaOne feed. Which, well thats their fault for jumping the gun without getting the rights.

No matter what though, it does sound like NMU dropped the ball.


I'm an admitted Wildcat homer (almost to a fault), but as of the last few years, the decisions being made by the leadership of this University make me question the respect I have for the school.

You're really not paying attention are you? The WHOLE WCHA is on AmericaOne.

I'm guessing that's the answer. Doesn't Bemidji still get to broadcast their games locally on public TV? If so, I'm guessing TV6 is at fault for assuming they could just mooch. But hell, it's more fun to blame NMTC. :)

Dave, even the Tech coaching staff expressed frustration with the refs in the media this week, and I cannot recall that happening much, if at all in the past two years. I rarely question officiating (though I had a couple of refs in the old WCHA that I always dreaded seeing out there). Complaints about HEA officials also came in from Hastings and Berenson over the past couple of weekends; NHL scouts at the game on Sunday questioned the officiating; it was bad. Was it the only reason we lost 7-3? No, but it was undeniably a significant factor, and officiating should never play that much of a role in determining the outcome of a game. That's my word on the subject. Time to focus and move forward.

Brain fart while posting quickly at work. I remembered that you guys had your own setup the last few years, and forgot that everyone was not on AmericaOne this year.

Well, trying to find a hotel/motel room in marquette for tonight was interesting to say the least... and then go on the ticket website and find the game is sold out.... Thanks a lot TV6 or is it NMU for deciding to not air the game 1 day before the game... Oh well, With lots of phone calls, friends, and persistence I was able to find a room and tickets to the game. Whether they claim to be televising or not next time, I will just have to plan to make the trip. It is a lot more fun in person anyway!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!! P.S. MTU, these home football and hockey games on the same day are murder on my liver...

oh yes.. best thing they ever did was start the Library VIP section at Sherman... Food catered by the Library and as much as you can drink beer until they run out(usually between the end of the 1st quarter and halftime.) Surprisingly for a small D2 school, the tailgating in the parking lot is quite impressive. I guess any reason for us yoopers to go drinking is a good reason.

I am listening/watching on America One and the first period audio was good. Now, the announcing is a little low and hard to hear over the crowd.

Great game so far for NMU. Strong goaltending and puck handeling is playing a big part tonight for them.

Sounds like Copley is having to show up more than Dhalstrom right now... NMU getting the better scoring chances thus far?

Ok time to regroup and worry only about tonight's game.

Stay out of the box and don't even put yourself in the possibility of having a major called.

Play the game hard and play right and win.

Unfortunately that seems to be a trend so far this season... When NMU gets down, they get frustrated and start taking penalties... Just seems like frustration that leads to the holding and hitting... Just forcing the issue...

You could say that for Tech last night.

All in all, a typical early season series. Both positives and negatives coming out of it. The key is to learn from the experience and move forward. On to Fairbanks.
