Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS - Final Game at Ritter/Playoffs <<<<<

Off the top of my head I cannot speak to the quality of the others for next year so I will reserve judgement on them.

Well both Minnesota and Umass did well in the tournament last year, so assuming not many people leaving then I imagine either of those opponents would be tough.
However, my pessimistic gut (without positively knowing recruits) tells me that one win is likely and any more than that would be awesome and above and beyond my expectations.

Agreed. Unless this freshman class comes in and makes RIT look 1000% better than last season I won't expect much out of these OOC games. However, I think the experience regardless will help us with the AHA.

I'm interested to see how Lowell does next year without Hellebuyck ... he was a stud for them last year.

We can't hang the success of RIT on the freshman. I think part of it was a lack of leadership behind Garbo. When Garbo came back, I thought they were a better team and I think win the first round series of the playoffs if the health problems didn't come prior to game 2.

I thought last year's freshman over was pretty solid. IF they progress and some of the players who underperformed last year get back (a healthy Garbo helps a lot there), RIT will be a factor in the AHA race.

Yikes, for a traditionally slow starting team this October schedule is nasty. St. Lawrence, Clarkson, Boston College, then two against Air Force in Colorado?

Hope the boys are ready to play come fall.

I have a feeling that we will be feeling a lot of "addition by subtracting" next season. After the last two seasons I don't really have any expectations, just time to hit reset in the new barn and see what happens. I think as it so often does comes down to goal tending next season. While the position did trend in the right direction, it seems to be trending by inches. Need someone to step up and have a big year...

I'm a fan of buffing up our defense, especially with someone from Lowell. They had such a strong and hard hitting defensive core last season. Unfortunately, I'm still left with a bad taste in my mouth from the last player to transfer to us from a different school.

Amlong is a solid player and a great young man,he will be nothing but a positive to RIT.

I was bout to stick up for Brian Payant than remember Anthony Hamburg, man I all most forgot about him, thanks for the reminder

Unlike Hamburg who only played 7 games for Colgate before returning to Juniors. Amlong has two season of 20+ college games under his belt. Looks like we may have to wait for him. Not sure if he has to sit the year, does he lose a year of eligibility, I think he does...

I would think he must.

Amlong will have to sit out the 2014-15 season and would have two years of eligibility remaining starting with the 2015-16 season. You have 5 to play 4. The only caveat to this is if he has graduated from UMass Lowell. He could then transfer to RIT and take a masters program that is not offered at Lowell without sitting out a year. Examples of players doing this are Justin Agosta (UNH --> Quinnipiac).

Let him graduate and take up Hospitality management!

Isn't it time for a new thread for the summer... and in anticipation of our new rink? I suggest, "Preparing for the Polisseum", or "Excited about the Polisseni center!", or "Coming soon, the Gene Polisseni Center!". It's time to start welcoming in the new era!

I saw just go with this one till it closes or the regular season starts, but if you have to have a catchy title go for it, just use the arrows, luckily we are still the only ones to figure that out...

It does help draw attention to the thread. Now if only we can get animated gifs and catchy 8bit music to play whenever it's clicked...

Just don't loop the music, I got the glasses at the tip of the nose look from Lerchie for doing that once...
