Hoping to replace that "AIC" with another three letters after this upcoming weekend. :)

Yeah, that'd be nice.......I'm thinking Ruby gets the start in goal tonight.

It would be nice.

I think you are correct about Ruby starting tonight. However, unless the team plays better defense, I don't it matters too much who gets the start.

I think the absolute key to tonight's game is to score first and/or not give up an early or soft goal. This team just does not have the mental makeup to come back from adversity.

Yeah, if they don't support the goalie, it doesn't matter who you put in net.

So, watching the Bentley game, the main thing I noticed on the offensive side is there was nobody in front of the net to catch what appeared to be a lot of loose pucks. Maybe the defenders were sitting back to cut down on their speed coming out of the zone but there could have been some good chances had if only a body was there to put the puck back on net.

So if you take a look at their record last year at this time they were 6-10-4 overall and 4-6-3 in the AHA for a total of 11 pts.

This year they are 6-11-3 with a 5-7-1 record in the AHA for a total of the same 11 pts.

Not sure what we can take from that other than this year is no better than last year.

Hoping for good things this weekend.

Conversely it's no worse than last year, and we made it to the second round of the playoffs (and barely lost both those games) last year.

Agreed, not implying anything nor looking into the future, we know what Canisius ulitmately did last year coming from seventh place. Just found it odd and thought I'd pass it along.

The key is to build on this win. There are a lot of home conference games coming up, and if the Tigers can take advantage of that, they will be able to move up in the standings.

LOL

Glad the team read my post about scoring early, "If RIT doesn't put Army away early and let's Army hang around I look for a slugfest in both games".

;)

How great was two goals that early?!?

Lets do it again tonight to ruin my prediction of a split. Lets go Tigers!

In WITR's post game, I think it was Ed who wondered who the starting goalie would be tonight, anybody know why you wouldn't go with Ruby for tonight's game?

It's Ruby again tonight. I didn't want to definitively say it without confirmation and said it sort of jokingly.

Well....I'll scratch your name off my list of 'serious' sport journalist then! :D

The start to the second period. This is why we won't get to Blue Cross this year.

I'm really starting to hate you at a personal level.

First people doubt we can sweep Army, then we outscore them 10-3. Now the sweep isn't good enough, instead two minutes of bad hockey (out of a weekend FULL of good hockey) is the reason that we're not contenders. Nevermind the fact that 2 minutes into Friday's game it was 2-0 RIT, or that we lead 2-0 after the first period tonight. Nevermind the perfect penalty killing and strong power play. Nevermind the surprisingly stellar play of Jordan Ruby. Nope, we're not contenders because we gave up two goals...

Army came out strong and got two good goals, they weren't horribly plays by RIT. They weren't weak goals. Sometimes teams score goals, lmg, and it's unrealistic to expect otherwise. What's important is that RIT didn't fall apart after that, they killed off a huge penalty right when all the momentum was going Armies way and then they scored to increase the lead. What they did is the textbook definition of how to stunt a teams momentum. In November, RIT would have immediately deflated and become a sad pinata, most likely losing (and definitely not winning) a game in that situation. Instead they battled back and held on to score the victory against a team that all season has played much better the second night of series.

Don't look now but we're .500 in conference and in 6th place, only 4 points out of 3rd.

Need to play a full 60 minutes like the TV guys said, just glad Colavecchia got that fourth goal. No quit in Army, definitely outplayed RIT in stretches tonight, except on the scoreboard.

So Winters was right, an easy four points....:p

You're a fool to think that those weren't defensive lapses. I'm glad my posts annoy you, complacency on this forum and the athletic department has let us fall to .500 in the worst conference in the country, and I'm going to complain until we're not mediocre of the worst.
