Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

Hey Lodge. How's it going?

Just found out that myself and my coworkers will all be employed until the end of the year. The voluntary lay-offs were not approved by corporate, so all those looking forward to early retirement will just have to wait around for awhile longer.

We should be able to start 2010 off on a good foot though....or maybe it's that we'll start 2010 off by laying people off. hmm. fun.

Bummer for those looking for an escape, and I assume a buy-out of some sort. Regardless, quarter-to-quarter corporate management. Gotta love it.

And DI is getting upsetting. I may take a break.

I gave up on DI a while ago. I post the PtC, and other than that, I stay out as much as I can. The new Northern/Tech thread is awful in so many ways, I can't even imagine all of them. I hope that thread disappears, and soon.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

Morning from the office. Counting down the days until Christmas Eve. :)

Found out my brother was offered early admission to Georgetown yesterday. He has applications out to Columbia and Harvard (sucks!)
Always knew he was the smartest of all of us! :o

Hopefully he's smart enough to avoid Harvard. I hear it sucks. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

Dear Santa,
This Christmas my team needs _________________.

1. A better record in second games of a series. Denver is 9-0-0 in the first games of series thus far. It is 2-5-2 in the second games of series. I can't identify the specific reason or reasons for the disparity. The Pioneers need either to improve in the second games of series or permission to schedule two games in one night.

2. Better overall play from Joe Colborne. In seventeen games Colborne is 6-8-14 and a minus 5. Looking more closely he is 5-6-11 on the power play which means that when playing at equal strength Colborne is 1-2-3 and minus 5. Those figures, and in particular, his lack of attention to defensive play are unacceptable from a first round NHL draft pick [Bruins]. In 1 1/2 seasons he's scored 16 goals, 9 on the power play, one short-handed and only 6 at equal strength. That's not good enough production at equal strength given the ice-time he receives.

I'm interested to hear what needs you feel your team must address at the mid-point of the season. :)

Dear Santa,
This Christmas my team needs _________________.

The return of the following players:
Rob Gaudreau, Chris Terreri, Ron Wilson, Randy Wilson, Kurt Kleinendorst, Gord Cruikshank, Gates Orlando, Randy Velischek, Mario Proulx, Dan Kennedy, Bob Bellemore, Rick Bennet, Mike Boback, Tim Army (the player, not the coach), Lou Lamoreillo, Chris Therrien, Joe Hulbig, Brady Kramer, Chad Quennevile, Travis Dillabough, Fernando Pisani, Mike Omicioli, Devin Rask, John Disalvatore, Peter Fregoe, Regan Kelley, Jay Leach, Matt Libby, Stephen Wood, Jason Platt, John Rheault, Nolan Schaefer, Boyd Ballard, Doug Sheppard, and the immortal Tyler Sims...

Otherwise, we are ****ed.

Dear Santa,
This Christmas my team needs _________________.
1) The ability to get the puck in the net every game. Not just some games. Lots of shots on goal is nice, as is dominating play, but we need goals. Goals will help with number 2 on my list.

2) Conference wins. Lots of them. (please note I would also enjoy non-conference wins for Christmas...but starting in January we could really use those conference wins).

3) A goalie that can steal games. And a goalie recruit please....ours kept claiming he was excited to go to Michigan and then didn't sign a letter of intent. Do you think maybe you could give that player that will not be named a lump of coal for Christmas?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

XBox question, what's the difference between 360 arcade & elite? Looks like memory is one big difference and some accessories. Is more memory really important? Somewhat? Doesn't matter?

Son wants one for xmas (from grandparents) to replace his original XBox.
Thanks!

Memory is pretty important for the 360 if you want to save anything of any value. Also, some games load real slowly and installing them to the hard drive itself can alleviate that somewhat. Go with the Elite as opposed to paying more in the long run for the Arcade when he decides he wants to save things

Matt Gilroy, Colin Wilson, and last year's version of Kieran Millan (not this year's model).

Definitely get the largest hard drive you can upfront (80, 120, 250gb) the base 20gb is not enough if you want to save games, extra content, etc. Even if its not the Elite, the HDD is the most important part of the system.

HDD seperately are overpriced.

For a Northern girl, every night is an easy night.
Are you referring to their frequency of getting laid or the ease of getting laid, because if it's the latter, please insert Tech girl in there.
(and no, I don't mean the still insertable Foxton)

I should have gone to Northern.......
No, it wouldn't have done you any good, they're all 5's there.

Jon and GLM: I think we brothers were separated at birth.

My personal favorites:
overexaggeration
irregardless
Two of my favs as well.
