Re the proposal- short, sweet, to the point. Do it somewhere that she can talk about afterward- without blushing.

How about asking in a comment to one of her weekly WCHA reports? :)

How you do? Pheasant for dinner? Can you put out Chukars at that preserve?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

Oh wow. I haven't met a new poll this early in a VERY long time.

Morning, Lodge. I think I might nap when I get home from work today.

Did quite well. It was nearly perfect weather. We had 6 groups of 5 guys. Each group was given 15 birds and 2 Chukers. Our group had two awesome dogs who found all of the birds. Our group got 15 birds including both Chukers.

Since I was with clients I went into the hunt trying to give them the best chance to shoot. However, wherever I ended up the birds were always right in front of me. I probably shot 6 maybe 7 birds. Not bad for never been Pheasant hunting before. I sucked at shooting clays though.

The hunt was over around 4 and I was dropped off last night at home sometime just before 2 AM. I left the place with four birds (which were cleaned) but came home with nothing.

The grounds were quite nice. In addition to birds (They go through between 5000 and 6000 birds a year) they also own three lakes that are stocked with Walleye.

Morning Lodge.

Friday is here. Hockey tonight.
It is really looking like I won't have to go home to farm this weekend, since the rain(sleet) has continued. Can't pick beans when its wet! I get the feeling that my dad is getting very antsy and may switch to corn for a while if he can find some lower than 25% moisture. It is stressful at home, so if I don't have to work I'll just stay in the cities for the weekend.:p

Sounds like fun!

The last time I was a guest at a preserve, the four guys I was hunting with were not the greatest shots. They either shot immediately, destroying the bird, or they flat out missed. I hit the first couple that flushed in front of me, then started letting the other guys have first crack. I usually dropped the bird after they unloaded. I wish we had shot some sporting clays or trap prior to the hunt, since I would have recognized what I was dealing with. After a while, I gently encouraged them to lead the bird "X" based on flight speed and pattern. It actually helped them. I don't recall coming home that night either, but in the morning, I found a bag of about 20 cleaned and frozen pheasants sitting in front of my freezer :o :D

Morning Lodge.

It's tough to get to work after a Thursday night hockey game. It just feels like today should be Saturday. Oh, and perhaps I shouldn't have gone out after the game. But the food and beer were yummy.

Apparently drunk hockey guy doesn't understand my humor....but I suppose it doesn't take much for something to be over his head.
