Are the meetings off site? The company I work for does two weekend retreats each year, winter and summer. I hate them, but attendance is mandatory.

Just explain that Sunday is a Day of Rest and your religion prohibits you from working on that day - especially while the NFL season is ongoing.
Two questions:
1. Where the Hell is Scarlet? Did she not make it back from the Emmys?
2. When is it permissible to murder a client? I have one I need to take out a contract on. (SG, what are your rates?)

Off site. These meetings are the roll up the sleeves and brainstorm with intetractive discussions variety.

We have to perform in role playing scenarios and similar activities. It wouldn't be so unbearable if there were more newer employees attending and interacting, but I usually wind up with the same people I work with every day, and we're very familiar with each other professionally and socially.

Funny you should mention that. Typically I just go ahead and have my admin asst make plans for my out of town travel or work with my schedule in general. I just received an email "please confirm whether or not you will be in attendance with corporate HR." I wonder how much having the meeting on a Sunday impacted that email?
