Well, if you break into your own apartment and get harassed by a police officer, it might get you beer with the President...and noticed by Harvard.

Just found out that a co worker in another location lost their spouse via suicide. Cripes, that is two people within three weeks that I have known that have killed themselves.

Yikes! Though I was reading the news that said both suicides and work suicides (people killing themselves at work) are on the rise. There is speculation that it's due to increased financial and work stresses. If you look at Japan's suicide rate, it's ridiculously high and there is speculation that the intense business and corporate lifestyle alienates people...

I'm sorry to hear that (and sorry that you're having to deal with those who are left behind)

It's interesting that these threads typically get 10 times as many views as posts.

I know that required very complicated math.

I do tend to scroll through a few times a day and see if there's anything I've missed. I don't necessarily post though.

My mom bought me the Coppola Restoration of The Godfather trilogy. Tomorrow, since I actually have the entire day free from work and school, is hereby delcared Coppola Day in the 'bando house. You are all invited to partake. BYOB.

And for those who are the praying types please say a prayer for my in-laws. MIL is in the hospital getting fluids. Can't quite figure out the story but I am not liking what I can piece together. Sounds like she needs an admission. Can't figure out why it isn't happening.

I think it's because we don't want people stealing our liquor (or chocolate milk). Don't worry, as a lodge smokin' hot, you're sure to get a key.

Packing up my stuff at work this afternoon, and no, I haven't been fired or let go or anything, I'm just moving to a new cubicle in a new building on the other side of the parking lot. Still a bit of a hassle though.

No, its more the other way around. I'm moving from the crappy, small, old building, where my group sits separated from everyone else to the main building where all the important people are.

And good news/bad news!
I just found out today that I did not get into the 3 week 6-sigma training course this fall since it was too full (I was on the waiting list). So that means that I should be able to take a couple days off work to go to Houghton for the Gophers series!!!
Unfortunately, this puts me behind a quarter on 6-sigma certification, but there really wasn't anything I could do about it, so it is what it is. Another bad...I think I will be taking the course in Q1 next year now, where I'm 90% sure it will prevent me from going to Houghton for winter carnival.

A piece of honest to goodness hockey-related news: DU season tickets for The Shots arrived in today's mail. I'm looking forward to the season opening series against Vermont as Denver begins its sixtieth season of hockey. Big pre-game doings are in store for that weekend as many hockey-alums will be returning to mark the occasion. Just a couple of weeks to go before the regular season arrives.
