Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

No masks from us, yet. Although that could change soon. I think we're seeing the start of it today, but nothing like that first go-round where pallets of 'em were being ordered.
As a heads up...the store I work at is undergoing a huge remodel around April (was supposed to be January). We're going to be completely changing the store type (prototype for Urban-style stores on the East Coast) and will be getting pretty much totally overhauled. I'd imagine you'll be shipping a lot of stuff our way. Don't say I didn't warn you. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

Hi kids. I'm not getting all caught up here but the interview went very well today and it turns out I may be a wanted man at Sirius because if I don't get the particular job I interviewed for they want to get me in there with a show somehow.

Well how 'bout that, eh?

AWESOME!
That's really great news, GLM! :D

I remember the grand opening for that store.

We could be shipping stuff out next week for that. IIRC it was something like 1000 line items (as in, each particular product, no matter the quantity, counts as a line item). We've had one of our guys put in about 6 hours a day on it all this week, and we're about 1/2 done.

Edit: and it's not the orders that * me off, it's the fact that each pallet has to be laid out EXACTLY the same, including labels on the shrink wrap on each pallet. And there's usually around 60-80 pallets. Yeah.

Possibly...I know we're going to have all new shelving stuff. It's only going to go about 4.5 to 5 feet high like at a gas station. Food Ave is supposedly going away in favor of a Starbuck's and we'll be carrying almost all food items a SuperTarget does (which will take up half the store) not including fresh produce/meat/cheese. Clothing section will be a bout 1/4 the size as it is now...

I saw that one at lunch and was hoping someone would post that.

Woohoo!!! Go GLM!

Then I think it might be. AFAIK, we're shipping a ton of drills/hammers/etc, not the janitorial kits. I think some shelves, too, but am unsure.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

Just got an email nobody wants to get. One of the fellow cadets here was working on his car this afternoon/evening, and apparently something happened and he has passed. I didn't know him, but the cadet regiment is sort of one large fraternity, you all have each others back so to speak. Gonna make for a downer weekend and next week, I imagine. Send some prayers to NYC for his friends and family if you can :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

I guess I'm not part of the crew. Oh well. I don't wanna be on no stinkin' Badger crew. :p

So do I...I also remember the first remodel. I (hopefully) won't be around for this next one since it's in April.

Brent...that probably is. One of the reasons it got pushed back was they weren't going to have everything in time to start in January.

Don't blame us. We had the stuff. :p

Oh, and I think you'll enjoy the text I just sent. :( :o

I don't even think they've ordered all of it yet. Given that Target likes push stuff back a lot, I didn't think you guys had anything to do with it. :p

Can't say I've done that sober...wow. :D

Probably not. Usually we have an order or 15 in December, too, but we haven't heard anything yet, which makes me worry. These things kinda pop up.

And yeah, I've even only done that once when I was drunk, which involved a trip to the Gusthaus on my b-day, years ago.

And just got a call from a buddy. I may be on a mutha *in' boat tomorrow on Lake Minnetonka. I hear the lake is great for purifying yourself. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

I'm not one to usually ask for thoughts/prayers/what-have-you, but my best friend's nephew was born at 28 weeks last night (for those not in the know, human gestation should be about 38 weeks). He's in the NICU and is touch and go. The brother-in-law suffers from severe attacks of MS. Any good thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
:( Lots of prayers for you all
