Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Morning Lodge.

I stayed home from work again today. I feel better than yesterday, but I still have a killer headache and a bad sore throat. Luckily I have a good supply of dayquil/nyquil and advil. Time to catch up on some DVR recordings, and try to feel better for tomorrow morning, I really need to be able to work tomorrow...

Does anyone want to make me some chicken dumpling soup?;)
I hope you feel better soon.

I wanted to stay home from work today...someone was trying to convince me to call in sick. It was so tempting.

*dance* *dance*
Tomorrow at 2pm.

Go 'ewe go!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

'ewe- I need an assistant. Any interest? If you can distract Kitler every Tuesday and Thursday you're hired.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Wiffle ball may not have been the best idea (I only pitched, moved a bit to catch pop-ups that were near me; no running). Leg not quite in shape for that (nor is my head). However, it is water and acetaminophen time!

*dance* *dance*
Tomorrow at 2pm.
Woooo! I will break out, for the first time in a couple of years, my lucky hawaiian shirt for tomorrow. I'll listen to "Tessie" (was a ritual in 2004). Anything to sway the fates in your favor. :)

That's the best kind!
(aside from Cheese Broccoli)
However, I don't make soup for anyone, I just get it from Toni's every afternoon.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

If someone is on ignore does that disappear their neg rep from your list?

It disappears from the list, but stays in the total. RC (on ignore) hit me a little while ago, then when I put him on ignore the listing went, but the total stayed the same.

Same thing happened to me. The you feel the effects but don't see the cause, if you will.

And HP1015--when you said RC, my mind went to a different person--a former psuedo-NMU poster who I saw to it is so deep in the red that should he ever return to USCHO he wouldn't have any effect on rep besides gray chicklets.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Just got my new phone. Blackberry Storm. Once I get adjusted to the touch screen I am sure I will really like it.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

let me ask everyone something. In a small company, how likely is it that if I don't like someone that it will get back to them? More importantly, if me not liking this person is justified (i.e. they are a malicious Russian piece of *t), will I be the bad guy?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

So far today have made beef stew, brownies, packed for a trip, made a batch of cookies,(all before 11 AM) gone to the market washed the dishes and put up a few quarts of greenbeans. It is only a bit after 1. I still need to drop said stew off at the in-laws, go to the farm for the moo, get L'il at school and then bring him to practice a bit latter to practice, pay the bills, pack the cookies and fold the last load of laundry. I am a bit tired. I wonder why.....

Be sure to download the Blackberry app store, and Crackberry store app and make sure you are on the current OS revision.

Oh and invest in screen protectors (3/$10) and a case of some kind.

Some good free Apps: Quick Pull, Slacker radio, Pandora radio, Twitterberry, Flickr, ESPN, TwinsBaseball, Weatherbug

My .02 worth.

I don't necessarily get along with everyone of my co workers and in fact there a few that I really can't stand. However, none of them know this because I do not talk about it with my peers, subordinates, my direct report or anyone else in or out of the office that may end up talking to another co worker spreading rumors and/or making the issue worse. Personally, I can deal with an issue and move on without holding grudges.

If by chance a coworker and myself clash/do not see eye to eye on something I will no doubt proactively and professionally address them and put the issue to rest and move on. If any of these people report to me and the issue impacts their ability to get things done I will address via their performance review/evaluation. Ultimately and in the rarest of situations I will involve HR if the need arises.

I wouldn't say you are the bad guy. Always try to take the high road and at times you might have to bite your tongue but be the better person.

Done that. Downloaded Blackberry app store, purchased screen protectors (what a pain in the azz to apply). Pandora seems pretty neat and I will be investing in Bluetooth to listen via my speakers in the car. GPS is awesome (VZ navigator) and I am impressed with the weather that via GPS provides updates based on where you are at 24/7.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Ralph, you crack me up. Eleven of my last twelve reps are from you, even though I haven't posted in... a really long time. :p

Hello again, Lodge! I have a computer and the Internet at the same time again :D I hope to never leave the Lodge for months at a time again.

And, since we're celebrating mine and con's birthday today, drinks all around! :D

Why did you waste a protector when the phone comes with one already on it? :p

I have not spent a ton of time playing with it yet. Is there a difference between what you posted.......Blackberry app store, and Crackberry store app?

Yes, they are two different things. Crackberry (web site and store) gives you access to many more apps that may not be on just the Blackberry one.

let's just say that this captain and I who I had to fly with for TWO months didn't get along at all. He is a my way or the highway guy and let's just say I don't do wonderful with authority. He made numerous comments to me along the way about how I would never make captain, how I wasn't a very good pilot, etc. In turn, I basically kept my mouth shut and took it. Finally though, I told him that I was having trouble dealing with his comments and would he please back off? He said he would try. That lasted one day. So I finally called Pro Standards, which is a pilot committee and explained to them what was going on. The worry I have is that one of the pilots on this committee is very good friends with the other pilot, and one of them is very good friends with me.

Bottom line is, I don't want to be accused of being a whiner or someone who goes and turns people in if they are "mean" to me. Ugh, I hate jobs.
