Happy Nurses Day to the Lodge's favorite resident nurse and supreme health care professional!! You need a week les, not a day!

And yes, I am buttering you up to ask a quick piece of medical advice. :) This is actually to follow up on all the back injury chatter. So, about 10+ years ago, I pulled something in my back at a Red Sox game because I was not sitting properly and it was cold blah blah blah. Every now and then it flares up. However, over the past 6 months, with all the traveling and events I've been doing requiring me to stand for lengths at a time, it has really begun to hurt. It's on the lower right side of my back. but all of my lower back feels sore. Now, it could be age and it could be the fact that I've put on weight but it is getting to be bothersome. I've started to try and do some stretching as I feel the muscles are tightening up. It does help a bit. My question to you is I don't know if I should invest in a heating pad or put ice on it. I can never remember when you should use either. Every now and then I take a couple of Advil.

I also don't know if this is something for my primary care or I shouls go see a chiropractor (which I've never done) or physical therapy and massages, etc. I hate getting old. :(

Ok. the kittens can come out of hiding. Finished charting. Started at 7ish. Finished now. Yep, this is my part time job. The SASS is all messed up. Was all day when I was trying to get things done. Have I mentioned the inventor of the EMR better never show their face around me? No? wellllll.......

I've seen what those EMR apps look like at my clinic, and I have to say that they look like a few tech people went off to develop an app without consulting their target audience on functionality, then some clincs' tech people reviewed the application, made the decision to buy, and saddled it upon the actual clinicians without them having a say - again.

Basically, it looks like you got this: http://www.businessballs.com/treeswing.htm

The TV was on 24 last night so we watched some of it. First ep. I've ever seen of it in my life.

Now I know why. It's horrible! Disappointed.

Scarlet, as someone who has dealt with back issues for over 40 years I recommend a chiropractor. First though, you need to find a good one cause there are quacks and bad ones. My experience is most MDs will tell you to stretch, hand you some printed pages that may, or may not, have the right stretches for your issue and maybe prescribe pills. A good chiro will adjust you and help you with the correct exercises for your issue. I went to one and described what my issues were and he told me which disc was bulging and which way, the MRI confirmed that. A neurosurgeon gave me some printed sheets with stretches that were just stupid for my condition, would have probably made it worse.

Two more finals complete. One more on Friday and I'll be done with my first three years of school.

On a side note, I've spent wayyyyyy too much time in the library recently, and my body is about ready to collapse.

May 8 will officially mark 15 years for me since graduating from SCSU. Wednesday, May 6 was the day I had my last actual class/final.

Today is the 8 year anniversary of my graduation from Northern. Submitted my last assignment on May 5, an hour before it was due.

And I keep thinking of going back to school, but only for a Masters/PhD.

I don't remember what day I graduated. I remember drinking too much at the DT, going to some house party with a friend and drinking more while some random guy I didn't know played 80's songs on an acoustic guitar. We were drunk enough that we thought it was awesome. Also, it snowed that day.

Good evening Lodge. FlagDUDETTE is still in surgery, and it is driving me INSANE.

What I remember about college graduation was that the night before, I was signing the lease for where I am now.
