Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

It's hard to think of four schools for whom I have more trouble rooting. I think that I will have to root for the Gophers, but dam it's difficult. Probably I will just ignore the whole thing.

I am in a similar situation. I'd feel obligated to root for the Gophers, but my fiance doesn't even root for them anymore after the BIG Mistake, so there's no reason for me to root for them. Despite that, they're the least of all evils in this Frozen 4. I'd go Minnesota, Union, BC, UND in that order.

Kind of burnt out for hockey :o

I'll probably watch MN-UND, mostly because odds are that UND will goon it up and pull another Gopher out of the handshake line, or attack the Gopher bench with a sharp, broken stick. And they're is a better than 50% chance we'll see one of the racists flip the bird.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

All the expectations for BC, but I'm expecting them to have a lot of trouble with Union. BC had too much trouble with Notre Dame for me to think they can beat Union, and if they do win it'll be a very close game that goes to an exciting end. I'm expecting MN to hand UND their arses (even with the end-of-season Whioux SCSU split that series only a few weeks gone now), and then Union will eek out its first national championship.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Well that was fun! Long weekend, went and got my son at school (SJU, near St. Cloud) for the weekend so he could join me at The X. When I originally read the schedule I thought the Sunday game was at 4. Whoops, had to bring YE back to school last night. Got home around 12:30 - and stopped traffic on the way home due the CarBBQ near Monticello didn't help.

Apparently LWB developed quite the cult following in section 118. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

For me it's Union and then as a least of remaining evils... NoDak.

If it comes down to the Gophers and BC, I'll root for the Gophers to lose - but not for BC to win... if you follow.

Yep.
The good news last Friday was UW lost. The bad news is ND won.

Did you SEE them this weekend?? Seriously. Not a doubt in my mind they will win it all. I may stay in Atlantic City and not go to the games as I really don't want to witness that again.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

We still have room on the bandwagon. Screening process? Yes. I'm on the Board, though, so....

Of the remaining teams, I guess I would most likely be a Gopher fan. But that's sort of like saying, "If I had to choose between AIDS, gonorrhea, syphilis, and herpes..."

So, I pass.

NoDak is herpes, right?

Saw them struggling a bit against UML. They're beatable.

I turned to the hubby this weekend if the Gophs can get past NoDak and end up playing BC, BC will probably win. Here's hoping Onion can squeak one out. Either way, we're looking forward to the trip. It'll be the LGF's first F4; second (and hopefully third) Gopher game.

Not all of it, but I saw enough of the BC/Lowell game to see that Lowell and Union play a similar, defensive game - only Union plays it better. Seriously, I think Union's the real deal and BC has the misfortune of being a good team that loses to one most people have already discounted. Perhaps I'm wrong, but Union simply impresses me.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Are we talking hockey in here??

I would agree with St Clown. Lowell lost focus end of third. BC had plenty of trouble with that game. I don't see them as invincible

It's hocke-lite, the Diet Coke of hockey talk.
