Sitting on the couch with Beau. He is sleeping, and I have been working. Working from home for a few hours before heading to the airport for a corporate flight to Indiana. Back tomorrow. Yay.

Good Morning Lodge.

Mavsy should go to the Iowa state fair....and not come back!

I have been there...:p

I was always so busy with football as well as hockey at the same time growing up during State Fair time..My parents and other siblings would go but I'd have football, etc..Now I've been starting class at the same time the fair starts..

This all sounds like excuses. Fair is open 6 am to midnight for 14 days.

People need to learn how to filter their thoughts before posting to social media. It's not every thought that spews forth from your mind needs to be hastily typed into your PC, phone or tablet. I have a buddy who, when talking in person, is completely reasonable and fun to have around. Looking at what he puts onto Facebook, the guy should have his tech removed.

It's a 180 minute round trip that would have to have been made between two-a-days, classes all day before and after, etc..I've never felt a huge need to go to the fair, although Sweet Martha's are the bomb dot com.

While in high school your classes didn't start till after the fair.

There are two weekends in the fair period, including a long one. You don't play football or hockey now.

You took that round trip to see a couple hockey teams you dislike play outside last winter, on a cold day and it probably cost more than the fair does.

What Brent said...:p

With my addendum.

Met in person today with my new supervisor. As I mentioned previously I already know him pretty well, and he's the guy I went to Ecuador with to do some engine inspections. So I know him fairly well and I figured he'd be a great manager. After meeting with him I'm even more sure of it. I think this is going to be a good thing for all involved. He asked me about my relationship with the sales and marketing folks, I told him the truth. He said that's what he expected and that he'd heard some bad things from the marketing manager. He then said that he doesn't believe a word the marketing guy says and that he's in my corner. So that was pretty nice.

He also said that a trip to Colombia is likely in my future...

Good evening Lodge.

It has been a long day.

and???!!!

Little g had a seizure about 4 am this morning. Took him to ER. ER doc IMHO was a idiot. Couldn't/didn't really tell us much of anything which is not surprising as I'm sure it can be a difficult situation to provide absolute answers to. However, ER doc concluded that maybe little g had a spell of the "chills" and we misinterpreted that as a seizure. Wrong. I won't get into details but this was more than just shivering from the chills. No testing was done of any kind other than checking vitals and visual observations.

Little g was back to normal within an hour of episode and by the time we left ER he was demanding he not miss the first day of school. ER doc left the decision to go to school up to us. We let him go. He had a great day. Lots of people watching him. I called and spoke to our family doc this morning. We are in great hands with him. We will see him tomorrow morning and go from there.

Going back to his birth little g experienced seizures the first 48 hours or so after delivery. We were informed back then and also whenever we meet with specialists that he may deal with seizures sooner or later but up until this morning he has never had one that we know of.

Just another thing little g (potentially) has to deal with. It's not fair but it's life and we will take it head on and make the best out of it.

It's hard to explain but watching your young child go through something like that is just gut wrenching. I have been through many things with little g but for some reason this episode has hit me hard. Caught me totally off guard.

I can't even imagine. Watching MNS (supposedly at the time) go through a seizure* was enough for me.

*He was simply trying to stand up, but given the situation, people were holding him down, so appearances were deceiving.

Anyone who says you don't feel physical pain over watching your child suffer is an idiot. This really sucks. Hang in there. All I can say is that little g is one lucky kid. He has the best parents he could have. They said a lot of stuff when he was a kid. He's proved them all wrong. Hopefully this was a blip. Praying for you guys. Glad he had a good day at school :) He warms my heart.
