Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Well, this week started off beyond sh*y.

CoolBoss passed away in his sleep last night. A co-worker of ours (who was renting a room out to CoolBoss) found him unresponsive this morning. CoolBoss was about 45 or so. :(

I'm still processing the whole thing; I've worked with the guy for a number of years, and our work personalities/ethics were very much alike. Of course, this led to some rather animated "discussions" at work, which few people understood that we were not mad at each other, we were just not tiptoeing around things. ;) I'm really gonna miss that. :(

Well that just sucks. Sorry to hear....good bosses can be rare & elusive.

Sorry, Brent. :(

After reading about him for so long it seems like we almost knew him. So sorry to hear.

Howdy. Sorry to hear, Brent.

Coming into NOLA. Getting ready for this ice-mageddon that the weather guessers are predicting. 1/2 inch of ice for greater New Orleans, maybe snow, maybe every type of precip. Going to be a matter of what the temperatures are. A degree or 2 either way could completely change things.

SO, if they name storms and there are 2 storms simultaneously ramping up, who gets the name or are they twins?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Brent, sorry to hear. My firm suddenly lost our CEO last summer and while I had known him for 20+ years I had only worked for him and gotten to know him well over the previous year.

Cold Morning Lodge.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Sorry to hear, Hoven. :(

Good Morning, Lodge! It is not that cold out. It only took me 2 tries to remote start my car. Usually it takes about 4 times in really cold weather.

Is it just me or when people feel the need to post their hockey credentials as proof they know what they are talking about do you immediately discount everything they've posted.

They should just stop naming winter storms.

For hurricanes they just do it sequentially when they hit something like tropical storm/depression stage first.

Sometimes, it depends on the subject. If it's setting plays and such, then yes. If it's along the lines of explaining how hard it is to snipe shots, the reason someone can't make certain passes in a particular situation, or protecting yourself when going into crashes, then no, because fans who've never played have a more difficult time understanding the situation. Even then, though, unless those guys have played D-1, major juniors, or higher, they can't fully grasp it no matter how much they say to the contrary.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Do you realize that Michigan is going to RPI and Union, I think in 2015-16? Next year RPI is going to Michigan for two, and in 2016-17, Union is going to Michigan for two. It is a two-for-one deal involving three teams. This was done when Appert and Bennett were able to work together. :D

I may have the order of things incorrect.
If that is true, that is exciting. I have yet to visit an ECAC rink (unless you count the outside of RPI's rink, which I don't). It is more likely I can convince someone to make a trip with me if Michigan is playing.

Next week I finish off my trips to B1G arenas. Kindda excited to go to Penn State.

:(

Sorry man. I know what it's like having a cool boss move jobs. Can't imagine having one pass away suddenly...
