Overheard recently:
"The reason you can't skydive in the rain is because you fall faster than the rain so you'd hit the pointy end of the drops, and ouch."

:D

Did you take a day trip across the St. Croix River today?

Greetings from the left coast Lodge. No screaming babies on my flight - I think that was a first. Just got back from breakfast. Sat outside, it's beautiful out today. Off to get a manicure now. Then to the pool!

Good Morning Lodge. Hey, it's FRIDAY!

Fall starts tomorrow! What team will you be coaching this year? When are tryouts? Our bantam grading is Sunday, 125 skaters, 15 goalies, 8 teams, AA, A, B1, 3 B2, 2C. Down from 9 teams last year. Jr is hoping to make the B1, will at least make B2. Got told by a B2 coach last night that he will certainly take him if he's available.

I'll be doing Squirt B's again. We start placements the 1st and finish the 7th.

Want to move up when I can, and that is indeed the plan, bu just didn't fit this year, which is fine by me for two reasons: I love coaching the young guys, it's a lot of fun. It's a tad less time consuming than the peewee and bantam level.

Best of luck to T, he's definitely improved. Hoping the best for him!

It has always amazed me the numbers you guys get for placements up there.

En route to Iowa City as we speak. I love football season. Tomorrow is our first 11am kick of the year, so the tailgating starts a little earlier.

I'm excited as two high school friends, and two of my very best friends, who go to school in Madison will be meeting us in IC.

Minnesota comes to town next weekend! Holding out hope that Floyd has a one way ticket this year!;)

Have a great weekend everybody!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #155: Back to School

Update on my Grandmother: She had a spinal decompression procedure yesterday afternoon, and the Dr's said it went very well. The 48-72 hours post op are critical, however sensory and physical regaining of function can obviously not be predicted, as it will happen over weeks/months, not days/hours. A follow-up procedure will be considered in 4-5 weeks, as she probably couldn't tolerate a second procedure so soon.

As of today, her ventilator was taken out (about a day ahead of schedule, they were predicting tomorrow) and she was able to rest comfortably. Still no lower body sensation, however some upper arm motion has come back. Not a significant gain in fingertip feeling, however way too early to get worked up about that. Long road ahead, but some progress has already been made, hoping for more.

Question for the mn folk.

I have Dish. For now the Big Ten network and Dish are being stupid and no Gopher football on the Big Ten network. Any ideas if the game will be played on another channel?
