I just got an e-mail from a woman who is student teaching in my son's 8th grade English class. She uses an apostrophe where none is needed (plural, not possessive) and mixes singular and plural in a sentence. Don't people in the teaching department have to take Freshman Composition anymore? She is going to help teach my son how to write?

I have some friends who are teachers from back in my high school days that I still see from time to time, and the one looked at me with a very confused look on her face when we had a discussion about the difference between "I'm doing good" vs. "I'm doing well." Adjectives and adverbs were completely lost on her. She's a really nice and fun woman, but I was very happy that she'll never teach any child I might ever have.

So at the end of each run in the sim there are about 25 or so flight progress strips that need to be taken out of the holders and thrown away. It is the job of whoever was the local controller to clean it up. *******in' Florida forgets every other time. The girl who runs on local after him got fed up today since he did it twice and went and got him to clean it up before her run started. Now he's going to do it on purpose to "prove a point." What are we in, junior high?. I understand forgetting every once in a while, and I don't agree with her running to get him, but good Lord don't be childish about it. Especially since there's a chance you have to run with her on your PV's and need to be able to coordinate with her.

I bought a new phone today. Went with a Droid Razr Maxx. I wasn't going to get one, but I got a special offer from Verizon for $130 off of a 4G smart phone, and with that added to the fact that the Razr Maxx went down in price by $100 yesterday means that I only had to spend $70 for it. Not a bad deal.

We got the Motorola Photons. So far, so good.
Laptop #2 is in service. I like it, but I'm not happy that I caused this in the first place. If the hard drive goes on this one, I'm not breaking the computer open to get to it.

I am eyeing the Razr Maxx quite a bit for as soon as I get home. I was due for an upgrade 3 days after I came back to work, wasn't very happy about that.
