Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

Got an e-mail for this year's kickball white elephant exchange... I have a month or so to find something interesting but completely pointless in the 15-20 dollar range. Any ideas?

Last year I picked up a "rock-paper-scissors-lizard-spock" tote bag from think geek.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

I am really beginning to hate the homework assignments for the German course that I am taking, or at least the writing parts. I have to write about a half page about a Schildbürgerstreich (a complete **** up). As was always the case when I had to do similar things in English classes, my mind is a complete blank.

Iowa?

(Oh, crap, I should be careful how I use that word, Mav might have a wet dream when he reads it)
:D

Ahhhh...God's Country!;)

Mornin' Lodge. Just got off of work, we set up 75 golfers to play today..it's November 3rd and we're gonna have 75 golfers?! It was chilly, 25 when we got there:p

Two classes and it's the weekend!

If you translate it as "that was a stupid thing to do", you could write about signing up with us bunch of ne'er-do-wells. :p

He lives in DC. You would think he would have reams of paper worth of things to write about that fall into that category! :D

It would be hard to explain. :p

One would think so. :)

The word comes from a series of folklore tales about the citizens of a fictional town called Schilda who were noted for their stupidity. The example that we read describes how war was expected and the towns people were worried that their valuable church bell would be stolen. For safekeeping they put it in a rowboat on a nearby lake and cast it overboard. In order to mark the spot where they were so that they could find it, they cut a notch on the boat while there. Obviously, they couldn't find the bell after the battle.

BTW, I think that Schilda translates into Schenectady. ;)
