HPCHNT. Got to the airport with 29 mins and 50 seconds left before my flight, as there are never security issues at syracuse airport and I never give them reasons to delay me. American Airlines has some BS policy that you can't check in less than 30 mins before a flight, and the only reason I had to check in with them is because for some reason it wouldn't let me online. Sooooo, the good news is they paid for USeless Air to get me to DCA tonight, then I'm flying AA from DC to Chicago to Houston. FML this is gonna be a long day. I hate flying, screaming babies should be on code red++++ today. Don't. Tempt. Me.
Granted, I'll admit part of it is my fault for getting here so late, but the policy is still pretty BS.
Your utility company won't do that for you?
I'd be surprised if they didn't. When I had a branch on the power line after a storm this summer the power company had it all cleaned up before I got home from work.Your utility company won't do that for you?
It is the line going to our house. That is not 'their' problem, only the ones down at the street level. I suppose we can give it a try tho.I'd be surprised if they didn't. That is the same as what I had this summer, it was the line that goes into my garage/house, they still came out and cleaned it up. I'd definitely give it a try, it doesn't hurt and may save you some cash.It is the line going to our house. That is not 'their' problem, only the ones down at the street level. That is awesome!Forgot to tell ya'll about my daughter's Audiologist appointment on Friday....so cool! Yes I'm biased.....but The U is awesome.
First off, her Audiologist wanted to fit both ears with high powered aids to see if it would help, the left ear is pretty much done and definitely needs an implant. The devise they used in the right ear was unbelievable......the difference was amazing and she could hear almost everything and we could speak at a conversation level. Amazing. At one point, when we were talking about the implant, Maggie had a weird look on her face and said "What is that?" We looked at each other and realized when was hearing an airplane fly over. Dad sheds a tear. The Audiologist then tells us Maggie will be going home with the Phonak as a loaner....but we are sold long before that.
The Cochlear implant is amazing, the technology that goes into this devise is simply awesome and the Audiologist is convinced the implant will have at least as dramatic effect on her left ear once it's done. In fact, she wants to monitor closely as she's afraid the left ear could become dominant over the aided right ear. While there is some risk everything we've been told by her her ENT & Audiologist and from what we've read makes this a no brainer in our estimation.
So timeline seems to be us ordering the new aid - insurance covers one every three years so we will need to argue with them some but they only cover $750 for one and this one will cost ~$2500. In the meantime the paperwork for the surgery is in process and we should have approval by the end of November and can schedule surgery at that point, probably in January.
Cool stuff.....thanks for listening.

Not enough kids in my neighborhood to justify handing out candy.Sounds like the kind of weekend where you get everything you need in order on Saturday, and Sunday becomes a HOIMU day.
10 bags of candy are in house for the kids tomorrow night. I'm not going to try to go bag-for-beer like I tried last year.
How long to you expect to be without your luggage this time?
The power company is usually responsible to the meter. It is the line going to our house. That is not 'their' problem, only the ones down at the street level. I suppose we can give it a try tho.
Oh, and for those keeping score from home: my deer tag for this season officially bagged a spikehorn this morning as one of my dads friends that we hunt with shot two spikehorns within seconds of each other. He used my tag for one, and they gave the other to another hunter on our club minus one of its loins. Guess my tag was meant for a spikehorn after all
