Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

So, what is the deal with DD coffee? Crack laced? I remember ~30+ years ago when I lived in PA that my now SIL talked about how she HAD to stop for her DD coffee every morning. i don't drink coffee so never tried it. Tried to doughnuts though - they were OK, nothing special.
Coffee is coffee and it all tastes like ***. The one time I've been to DD I was not impressed with the doughnuts. Nothing compares to the doughnuts you can get at a local mom and pop bakery. We have one close to home that has incredible doughnuts and rolls, its been run by the same family since my grandpa was a kid.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

I picked up some Dunkin' Donuts coffee at the store the other day, and I can see what all the fuss is about. This stuff is good, I can only imagine what it's like fresh at one of their stores. :)

Half-Marathon. 13.1 miles. I'm hoping to break 1:50:00, and if I hit 1:45:00 I will be thrilled.
Echoing Shirtless. You will do fine!

Allegedly "America runs on Dunkin'". I'm just sayin'....

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

No one goes to Dunkin Donuts for the donuts silly. I like their coffee, not love. I can trust it, which is why I will go to one when I see one when I travel. I was not impressed with Tim Horton's when I was in Vancouver. At least not with their coffee. The donuts were tasty.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

The Dunkin Donuts coffee here in Chicagoland blows. Tastes burnt and bitter.

Tim Hortons coffee in Michigan is the best. :) Picked up a kilo of the fine grind just to have at home.

Never had plain coffee from Starbucks or Caribou for comparison sake.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

The Tim Horton's locations in the Syracuse area have pretty good Canadian Maple doughnuts. The rest, meh.

Good Morning Lodge

I switched to it after the Twins game, because I was curious. I agree on the mom thing, except it isn't that she charged them rent or made them care for the baby on their own, she was a complete ***** because she told them that she'd take off work to help for the first week and she told them that he could stay rent free as long as he took care of baby momma and baby, which turned out to be complete lies. Not to mention she asked her anorexic daughter to go on a diet with her. I turned it off at that point, it was too much pure stupidity for me to handle.
Mornin' lodge. I totally agree. I also thought it was comical that when she had to see a dietician, her mom came with and the dietician, my pastor's wife:p, asked how often they ate together. The daughter responded with something along the lines of, "we never do, I can barely remember the last time, etc" and the mom insisted it would be better for her to eat alone, that way she wouldn't be embarassed. In front of her own mother? Really?

It's becoming a recurring theme in my life that wives that leave their families for other new, "dreamy" men, the one who is they're prince charming and so much better than their current husband, the family kind of gets shutout. And it was evident again last night. Women find that new guy and he's the only one who matters.

(Not that it's just women, but it has been in my life.:p)

For those who don't have Extra, I might be making a very large purchase in the next month or so.

In other news, there's a mama moose who had a calf over the weekend and they're resting right outside my office window.

Morning Lodge.

Forgot to mention yesterday that late in the day I was told that I need to move to another workstation today. My last day is Friday. Morans.

I sent an e-mail to the CEO and copied the IT guy and the woman who passed the info on to me that I will move today if needed - to my car and out the ****ing door and he can handle any unfinished business. Including the promises he made to clients on my behalf yesterday. I'm not moving today then leaving on Friday. How ****ing stupid.:mad:
Were they going to move you down into the basement and also put you in charge of the rodent problem as well as your other duties??

I really should find something like that around here to train for, would give me more of a reason to get some more running in this summer.

I signed up for LinkedIn...since a friend from school invited me, or something like that. I don't really know how I'm supposed to use it.
I can see how it could be helpful if I'm looking for a job, or looking to hire someone, but other than that it seems pretty useless.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

So, what is the deal with DD coffee?.
They serve it hot enough to weld steel, that enhances the taste but yes its crack laced and people will run you over for it in the morning. I used to love it but I quit coffee for 2 reasons, one migranes, two, no way will I pay 2 bucks for a coffee they have 8 cents in. I had a customer tell me putting in a DD next to his CStore, leasing the building to DD would pay for the complete project(cstore, gasoline tanks, pumps canopy, laundramat, DD store) in less than 10 years. It took him 2 years to get the permission from the State DOT because DD cause traffic jams trying to get to the drive thru, he had room for 19 cars off the road(rte 1, wells beach area)and they still gave him grief

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

Continuing the DD topic...I set an endcap of DD coffee today. Have to admit they smelled pretty good (thought I heard the Strawberry one doesn't taste good at all).

I can't do fruit flavored coffee, I'm sorry. The coffee shop I used to work at would do a cherry flavored coffee in the summers. It was not good, to say the very least, but the fudgies bought it like crazy because, "ZOMG it's CHERRY!!!11!1"

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

I miss the dunkin donuts hot chocolate... I don't drink coffee but hot chocolate was always nice... good for a late-evening (10PM) dunkin' run every few days my senior year (in grad school, getting to my car was a pain in the ***)
