Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

This is Teh Lodge, what's with all the future planning talk? :p

Movers are done. Rental furniture is installed. Now it looks like we live in a Des Moines Courtyard by Marriott.

Need to plan my road trip future. ;)

And I'm still a member of Scarlet's "Tuesdays Suck" club. Today was horrible. Avg day: fill 3.5 52' semis. Today? 6+ were filled. And yes, I did that with no help. Exhausting. The only glimmer of hope is that we're are actually trying to hire 3 more people (true number is 5 more after this week, due to 2 people leaving).

Bad part? The offsite building has now become a 1.5-2 person job. Whether it's me or the original offsite guy, no help is available in general. We're told: just get it done, however you have to do it. It's rather stressful and hectic.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

Today definitely sucked, but tomorrow is a new day, and things are once again looking up.

For you, maybe. :p

Even my garage door opener busted today. Now, to get into my garage (until I get a new opener) I have to get out of my Jeep, use my key to get into the garage, push the button to open the door, and hurry up and drive in before the door shuts. *ing hassle.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

Well, let's see. I'm off 'til Sunday night, the weather is going to be wonderful through Friday, and I'm going biking with a good-looking girl tomorrow and Friday. By this time next week, hopefully I will have forgotten about the god**** job I didn't get.

Weather will be nice, top will continue to be down on the Fifth. Can't argue with that. For the rest of my week, it should only be able to look upwards, but chances are it will find a way to spiral downwards. Hopefully some wierd simple pleasure will strike me, and make my day great. Then the weekend will arrive, and I will be pleased.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

Assuming I don't brick, there is major relationship potential with her. I like the signals I've gotten so far, but it's still early in the game, and there's ample opportunity to **** it up.

"Social"ize. Don't assume you have all the power.

Yes, I'm sure you saw what I did there.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

This is rife with innuendo, but I'm really curious to know how long and how fast she can ride.

Friday, she'll be doing a 30 mile ride with me, so hopefully she's physically ready for that.

Also rife with innuendo:

Experienced? 2 to maybe 2.5 hours, tops.

With you? 3 hours tops, maybe 2.5 hours.

This is assuming non-road bikes, which I know you don't have.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

We both have mountain bikes.

Friday's ride will take 2 1/2 hours for sure; don't know about this morning's ride, since I don't know where / how far we are going. My off the cuff guess is 15-20 miles.

Tomorrow, I'll have to take her shopping (I know, I know) since she doesn't have any biking-specific stuff (other than the helmet and bike, obviously). A 30 mile ride without padded shorts would be hellish on anyone.

* that. Padded shorts? Gimme a break you candy-arse. Jockeys and shorts. That's all you need. Just a little snugness, that's it. And for women, that's what her (supposedly) curvaceous arse is for. :p

Padded shorts. You gotta be kidding me.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

If you rode regularly and dealt with the bumpiness, you'd understand the need for the padding.

Mountain bikes aren't exactly comfortable for distance riding, so the shorts are a relatively cheap way of dealing with that.

A new bike is a more expensive way of dealing with it, but I just don't feel like dropping a grand on that right now. $20 for shorts is much more reasonable.

BTW, why'd you say "supposedly" with regard to her ***? You've seen a pic of her and presumably should remember what she's got for a caboose. :p

You don't need padded shorts on a forklift? ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

I feel like I drifted into the singles thread (PS don't stop posting in here now about it cos I want to know what happened :p )

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! wobbly wednesday

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

Good Morning Lodge. I'm glad to hear that "Tuesday Sucks" is a common theme here; now I don't feel so bad about my rant earlier.

Let's see if anything at work can happen today and that it isn't so incredibly boring...
