Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!
Basic recap of the worst 2.5 hours at work I've ever had in my almost-10-years there:
1. Pallet containing 50+ cases of toilet paper/napkins/paper towels (simply referred to as paper from now on) breaks while it's 5 feet up in the air. Spills everywhere, have to restack.
2. Get an order for 150-lb, 10 ft long guard rails. Pick one end up, slide pallet under. Pick up other end, center it on pallet. Then move, and reverse process to load on truck. Worst. Order. Ever. To. Pick. Gums up the works something fierce.
3. Some salesman doosh overrides the deadline to enter orders. Since it was past the deadline, it wasn't shipping tonight anyway, but since it's in the system, we still have to pick it. This one entailed 2 pallets, 7 feet high each after picking the products and stacking them, 100+ boxes of paper and trash liners.
4. 8 forklift picks (as opposed to hand-loaded picks). Annoying, takes forever, and our average PER DAY at the off-site is about 2-3. Already had 6 from earlier in the day.
5. Missed my deadline by an hour, due to all this. First late truck I've had, EVER.
6. Still had to go to main building, since the other semi-truck guy had to leave early tonight. And ship all the stuff I transported there.
7. All in all, a 10+ hour day, on a Friday. Don't * with me tonight.
